In need of Lean-metering rods for the WA-1 Carburetors #968S Carter.

2 of the 75-862 and 2 of the 75-863 new or used.

We are doing some testing on a 54-308 engine equipped TWIN-H-Power for economy and Power ?

Know where we can buy them?

Drop the het.

Thanks to all Rudy

Try Daytona Carburetor in Daytona Fla. The company is owned by Ron Hewett a long time Hudson guy. He should be able to help you out

    Rudy,

If it comes to it, and you can't find the right size you need, you can always contact Jon Hardgrove at The Carburettor Shop. He actually owns the original machine used to manufacture those metering rods, and is capable of making a new set to whatever size you need. They are predictably expensive, though.

  • Rudy,

I'm wondering how the search is going on the metering rods? Or, what you've found in the way of calibration parts for the older Carters found on Hudsons.

  • I would also talk to Randy Maas he has done a lot of work adjusting the metering of Carter carbs. He is very knowlegable of how to get the best performance out of them. All that racing experience helps.

I have not had any luck on the m-rods but, will call Randy M.

    tomorrow night.

    Thanks to all. Rudy
  • I'm draggin' this old thread back up. Wondering if a source for metering rods was ever found?

    Does Randy have metering rods?

I'm thinking it wouldn't be entirely impossible to re-bend Edelbrock Performer metering rods to work in the older Carters. I may have to run that by my toolmaker Brother-in-law to see if I can get a small, affordable, repeatable rebender fabricated.
