Lois Lane Would Be Proud

  • I always liked that car on the Superman show. They have recently released the George Reeves Superman TV show on DVD. I watch them with my daughter she loves them. See all kinds of cars in that show. In one episode Lois passed a 1950 Hudson Commodore on the road. We keep looking for Hudsons. See a lot of Nashs as they were a sponsor of the show.
  • I heard it go Beep Beep.

Will have to put that DVD set on my Christmas wish list! Perhaps you all have seen this pix of Lois with her Nash. Brings back memories of 1950's evening TV.

I also remember seeing the original "Healey designed" (1951?) Nash Healey on one of the episodes.
  • And people thought that the big header on Step-Down convertibles was ugly.

Apparently, George Reeves drove a Jag and the Nash Healey that appeared in Superman was originally owned by Dick Powell. But remember the Nash Healey in "Sabrina"? Bogart (heir to the Larabee fortune) borrowed this car from his playboy brother (William Holden) for a night on the town with Audrey Hepburn (the chauffeur's daughter). Classy actors and cars but kinda flaky plot.
  • Reeves actually drove a 53 Alvis TA Convertible. And it was in one episode of the show.

One last pix of Lois and Clark and I'll get off this nostalgia highway! Also see http://www.jimnolt.com/nashhealeyJWP2.htm for pictures of the Superman Nash Healey restoration. Best wishes.
