I'd like to know too, but I don't think anyone has done it here yet because I haven't got any opinions.0

I have never used newport engineering products on a hudson, but I have used them on other makes of antique cars and they work very well.0

In addition to a dual action fuel pump, would using a vacuum storage tank (with appropriate check valves) be of any benefit? Was the large vacuum tank on the 54's just for the power brakes or ?0

yes the tank is only intended as a back-up for the power brakes.

it seams to me that 15 years ago someone was making brackets to use a 6v or 12v vw bug wiper motor, these were the first electric i had seen on a hudson. so 6v is possible, just not crammed into the vacuum motor housing.0 -
Sorry, my Hudson is 12volts and the fuel pump is electric. I understand Walt Mordenti used a VW van rear window wiper motor for his car. I just wanted to find Hudson owners who have converted and their experience.0

Another Solution - I tracked down and ordered a TRICO Accessory Vacuum Pump - supposedly mounts to the generator and runs off the back of the fan belt using friction drive. Per another member of this forum, it worked on his Essex and he now has wipers going up hills as well as coming down. Ordered from wiperman.com - have yet to receive and install.

WOW! I've heard about 6 volt pumps made by Trico. Keep us posted on the install and how well it works.0

Someone here a while back was trying out some aftermarket electric wiper (not newport) and was going to report back but never did.0

i used a wiper assembly for a nissan titan I got at work. you have to get ride of the stock ones but it works well. I filled in the stock location and put them above the windshield. hides up in the headliner nicely0
