Hudson neon sign
Somewhere in my travels I was poking around in an old service station, and came across a neon sign that was done in white neon tubing, in handwriting style, and said something like "this time make it Hudson", or "this time its Hudson" or something like that.
The sign wasn't for sale, but maybe it could be repro'd if a Guy had a good picture of one to work from. Was this a genuine dealer sign back in the forties or fifties, and if so, does anyone have one, or could provide a picture ?
I'd sure like one for my shop wall.

As I recall, "This time it's Hudson" was a slogan that was used when the stepdowns were introduced in 1948. Currently, there are some Hudson dealer signs on ebay. Sometimes they do show up at automobilia auctions. Costs for originals (sold by those who know what they have) are usually in excess of $1,000.00.0

The HET club here in New South Wales Australia had some of these signs printed recently, they are
400x400 and are very well done, these and quite a few other original signs were done for the club for sale to our members.

Some time ago,Ken Ammon {I think} was selling those neon signs. They had been reproduced for him and were quite good. I think he was also selling another neon sign that just had the logo and the word "Hudson" on it This might have been one of those signs.0

Does anyone have a phone # or email address for Ken ? I'll check with him and see if he has any left, or maybe knows where there is one for sale.
Les P, do you know of any signs for sale "down under"?
Thanks,

Yes we do have them for sale down here, not sure how we would go on postage of them though, they are printed on metal.
Go to our site and check them out.

I have an original one of these neon signs. They were made to hang on the inside of the sales window as have rubber tips on metal ends that would touch the glass.
I bought it still in it's original shipping case at a former dealership in Billings, Mt. in the late '60s; all I had to do was get a proper transformer. It still works perfectly.0 -

I would be interested in pics and prices. Please e-mail me at:

Additionally, I can e-mail Silverone, who was the original poster of this thread, to see if he is still interested.0
