New Glass for Stepdown Rear Windows

Why is it the rear windows never "fog" and the same car will have front ones that did? What's with that? Another Hudson mystery.0

maybe because the fronts were two pieces slapped and the back was one piece thick?? Not for sure0

Yes, that is correct. The rear window is tempered Herculite, and will not fog because it is a single piece of tempered glass. It will however explode if conditions are right, such as a high degree of heat build-up in the interior. It doesn't happen often, but is possible. Always crack a side window or two when your car has to set out in the hot sun!

A frequent cause of the "fogging" is the discoloration of the glue used to laminate the front and side glasses. Same as the bubbles, the two pieces are starting to separate.0
