Looking for a junkyard trip for me and hudsondad. Would like to find a junkyard in PA or relatively close, we are located in central PA, and would like to keep tradition alive, (day before thanksgiving junkyard trip) and find a yard that has old stuff (40's 50's 60's)in it. Perferably Hudsons, maybe even some Oldsmobiles.... good cheap prices are a plus, and within 100 or so miles would be nice, but hey, we can't have everything.

If you know of one, please pM me !

Thanks!

Rick

    Thank you.
  • Hey you guys! you hijacked my thread!

Hudsondad is going to be mad if I don't come up with a junkyard trip for next week, and SOON!
  • Even if you could find the dream junk yard full of 50+ years old cars you're looking for, they were probably picked clean years ago or are so weathered that nothing of value is left. Best of luck.
  • Dave,

there is always "one" junkyard left where you still find those barn fresh one of a kind cars that we dream of. You can always tell when you have found it because the road up to it is a little misty and through the mist you can just see the front of that 51 convertible peaking through.

The owner greets you in a off kiltered way and shakes your hand with a hand that has only a hook a shiny hook...he then begins to tell you how he lost it timing a old Hudson. "Put my hand where it shoulda not been" he growls.....

Yeah ...there still out there you just gotta want to keep looking.....
  • 51 Hornet, What a vivid dream...or was it?

Bonners and Kress' in Hazleton, PA

    Engler's in Nuangola, PA

    HudsonKid-

Have you tried Dave Rapp on the PA/NY border? Starlight, PA. He has about 70-75 Hudsons. Recently bought the extremely hard to find convertible header for the '52 'vert from him . . . nice fella. I have a phone # if you're interested, just e-mail me as I don't check the forum as recently as I used to-been workin' on Hudson-stuff, you know.
