Good News from the State

Hi Again Guys,

I finally got some Good news from the Commonwealth of PA in the mail yesterday. After several months of work and a court order, I received my Pennsylvania Title for the '51 Super Six! Now the work of returning it to the road will really begin. As I said earlier the car run (off a bottle under the hood), and all the gears seem to work properly, and at least the mechanical portion of the brakes work from the pedal.

I am attaching a photo of my newly offical wonder below.

I am wondering, are the doors on the two-door Brougham Sedans the same length and same door as the Club Coupes?

Wheel base for all "big" Hudsons in 1951, Super 6, Commodore 6 & 8 and Hornet is 124", regardless of body style. Pacemaker is short at 119"

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering if Hudson used the very same door for both the club coupe and the two-door sedan?

    Thanks,

    Bob

The sedan and brougham dooors should be the same. I am not sure about 51, but normally they are the same. The coupe doors are longer

The Master Parts Book for 48-54 confirms that the Right and Left doors for the coupe and Brogham or 2 door sedans for 48-52, 4C, 5C, 7C interchange. These doors are different part numbers from those for the front doors of the standard 4door sedan. Obviously the trim patterns for each model may not be the same as your 51, but the doors will work and a good welder can fill trim holes.

Good Luck with your car, it is obvious that you are excited about the prospect of making your car roadworthy again.

    Best Wishes from HOT.
  • Guys,

Thank you for the input. You confirmed what I was thinking.

    Thanks again,

Ken, when Al Saffrahn and I went partners on my donor '50 Pace Coupe, he kept the doors, trunk lid, and rear fenders as he said they would fit any of the step downs, even the longer wheelbase cars.
