guys,

My family has been celebrating this special holiday since my fore father,

John Alden stepped off the Mayflower in 1620.

It goes beyond family tradition at my house to make this the most special

day of the year.

I wanted to extend the "Thanks" to every Hudson nut that has helped

me this year & to the new friends I have met.

You guys are what make this club way more special than any of the others

I have belonged to.

Here is my thankful thought for the day:

I am thankful for all the sons and daughters defending our proud country.

Remember them today and say a prayer for them. They are in harms way

and need our support. They are the reason we are able to celebrate on

this day.

thank you from the entire Indiana section of the Alden family,

Ralph Alden

Ralph, I am also thankfull for the seventh decendant of the original John Alden, (also John Alden)who designed my 1938 Malabar Jr. Alden sloop "Viking"which I enjoy sailing and rebuilding to keep it in it's original shape.

  • My father's grandparents (on his mother's side) came to the US from England in their 40's. My grandfather was the navigator on one of the first transatlantic passenger flights I'm told. Don't know much about my mother's side of the family. My son is the ninth generation of my father's family to carry the "Wheaton" middle name (as I, my father, his father, and on and on), a tribute to an even older family last name from somewhere in the NE states, so it was said.

So eat lots and Happy Thanksgiving Day to all!
