correct '52 engine photos

I was checking to see if anyone has any correct '52 Hornet twin -h engine photos that they can post.I bought the running '52 Hornet 4 door on Ebay last month and I'm starting to clean up the engine bay and I wanted to make it as correct as possible. I've seen different colors and I want to do it right . Also is there any place to get repo tail light lenses? Is the Twin-H painted on or is it a sticker on the Air filters . If painted ,is there a stencil available ?Thanks ....Tom

  • 52 hornet engine should be gold.

repro taillights are available from KGAP

Twin H is on via decals (at least now...) they are available from the club store, or if you opt... you can have a local vinyl guy make you a few, I did, had my vinyl guy lay the yellow on the black drop shadow. they came out good.

If you have not, consider joining the hudson club.

Do you also have a stainless shield for a 50 Pacemaker 232ci?
  • same as twin H, you just need one...
  • Thanks for the responses ! I'm truely greatful for your help. I can wait to get the '52 Hornet back on the road .I 've gone up to the local gas station for a power ball ticket a couple times and I'm getting alot of good response from people .Thanks again ...... Tom.
  • KGAP also has the rest of the decals that go under the hood. Such as, Patent, Specifications, Oil filter, new ID plates for starter and generator, and many other items. E-mail for a catalog to HETkgaphet@aol.com Drop the HET at front.

Oh and remember... Hudsons get pleasure with KGAP rubbers.

Ummm...Did anyone ever get you pictures for reference?
  • My handy dandy Hudson gallery has a pic that will show what a stock engine for 52 looks like. With of course the Twin H option show.

I'm guessing here, but I think what he was after was a good picture of a correct engine and engine bay. How are the heater hoses routed, where do the wires get routed, etc. Gotta say, that is sure one pretty engine, though. . .
  • Ummm .... funny you should ask! Not yet ,but I think I found what I needed. It looks like the block & engine water pump & pulleys should be gold and the air filters ,carbs & manifold should be red .If anyone has any other ideas ,let me know .I really enjoyed your photos and text on your vehicle.Tom ...somebody just came through with a great photo ....Thanks

    Great!

The thread was going a little astray from what you'd originally asked for and I hoped someone would come back with a good picture or pictures for you!

That is a nice looking engine on the stand! Is it Purely for show?

Aren't the pulleys supposed to be black? The carbs are not painted. Shouldn't the intake manifold be gold and the exhaust cast iron color? The shop manual and factory photos I have show the thermostat neck as being dark and perhaps black. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  • On a 52-53 Twin H the carbs are not red neither is the manifold its engine gold as is the thermosat neck. From factory lower pulley is black as is all pulleys. Water pump is indeed gold.

Only red part of the 52-53 engine is the air cleaners.

Pic of stock 308 under the hood.
