Relax...I haven't sold the Hudson!
I've been biting my lip, trying not to say too much, or get my hopes up too high, as to not jinx the deal but I signed the papers today on a new house - and the most important thing of all it has...
I'm moving from .25 acre, 3brm 1ba 1400sq ft (no garage or shop) to my new place 1.25 acres, 3brm 2.5 ba 2000sq ft, w/2car garage and a 4 car shop!
The combined shop space alone will = the sq. ft of my current home!
It'll still be another month before work can start on the Hudson again - but after a 9 month hiatus from working on the car I'm looking forward to the big push to "Get 'er Done" and especially being able to do it in my own space and time!
This will be the first time in over 10 years I have had my own shop to work out of - no more carports and laying in the gravel!
Hudsonkid is going to get sick reading all of my updates!

Make sure to keep us up to date with the progress in great detail:D
From the previous post, it looks like the place has a lot of potential.

With slight modification, I can see Rambo's Ride fitting into the living room!
And I hope you're planning on buying a wide cutting mower to expedite the lawn mowing.0 -
Congrats Dude! When's the house (I mean shop) warming party? You know tax seasons gonna be here soon.0

Great place Dan. I am jealous. What it must be like to have a garage.
I look forward to seeing the updates on the place, and hopefully seeing some progress on your hudson, which we seemed to be missing out on for some time. I checked the site, and it seemed to be the same for a bit.
As far as SamJ goes... I got an idea where you can shove that can of SPAM. PM me and I can tell you... :mad:0 -
Congratulations on the new home and on the new shop.0

Congrats Dan! How much would you charge me to store some of my junk there? I mean Hudson projects. LOL
Some other car guy said "This hobby is a disease and the worst thing that will cause it to spread is to have a lot of space." LOL0 -
Thanks for all the replys and encouragement.
I got the keys tonight and took a longer look at things.
The bones are good but the place needs some cleanup and a bit of
"de-wiring" I can't believe the amount of switches, lights and plugins there are in the house and the shop areas - mostly not working!
Some folks should really never try their hand at home remodeling or wiring!0 -
Dan, Congrats on the new digs! Being from the area, when you told the price earlier, I just assumed that the house would be, well, "modest". What a surprise! It looks great! You got a great deal. Can't wait for a "road trip" this summer from Chehalis. As to SamJ and Hudsonkid, "That'll do! Don't make me come in there!"

Hey, this is great, you really have a place to be proud of.

All I can say is "NICE" Good luck with your new home. I'm sure you and Rambo will really enjoy living there.

Mike - you're a quick 80 miles one way to my place from Chehalis - Drop by anytime. Chehalis is also where both of my grandparents where born, raised, met and married!
Pictures do hide a LOT of imperfections! The carpet is worn out and it needs some cosemetic work but the basics, however, are very solid.
Rambo got his first trip over today - he loved the place (...I think he got nearly every tree - Good Boy!), but I'm sure at this point he thinks its just another in the long list of houses I looked at in the last 6 months!
What's left of the Hudson is sittin' on the trailer ready to make the trip - . Once she's there I'll shoot some pictures of it warm, happy and content finally having a shop to live in for the first time in probably 20-30 years!
I've got a lot of work to do moving and on the Hudson and your support is encouraging and inspiring - Thanks All Again!0 -
Congrats on the new diggs! Now you need to surf on over to
www.garagejournal.com and forget about that worn carpet in the
house.:D0 -

Hi Lou,
It's actually 1 big picture to get all the views in thats most likely the reason for the slow load. I did it like that because the forum only lets you post up to 4 images in a single post
The place is in Port Orchard/Southworth, just about 6 minutes from the ferry dock in Southworth.
It's 2AM I just got back from a day over working there on the shops. Tomorrow might end up being an "all-nighter" because I want to get the smaller garage painted before I come back to Kirkland...we'll see, the old bones don't hold up as well as they used to!0
