New Manuals - Distributor XRef Error

My new manuals just arrived (shipped over nigth). Man what a difference from the first set. I have all the pages and they are bound not 3-ring binders. I even have the Models column in the Master Parts Catalog filled in. My first set (for only $25) was missing a lot of pages.

I noticed that page 6-3 of the 500 Series MPM states my Pacemaker has an IAT-4002 distributor and the MPC states an IAT-4203 or IAT-4009 (page 283, Section S8, part No. 304531).

Which is correct? And how do look at my distributor and tell (without removing it)?

    First set - E-bay

    Second set - Faxon
  • Thanks for warning others who may be in the market for manuals.

1950 Pacemaker used distributor IAT-4002; IAT-4203 was used in 1951-1952 Pacemaker. IAT-4009B was used in 1951-1952 all 6 cylinder except Pacemaker.

IAT 4002 should be correct, as to how to tell, Get yourself a mirror, and learn to read backwards.... label will be on the hard to see side....

Thanks to both of you. One mirror on a stick coming up.

The difference in the manuals is not nice. The models column of the MPC states 50A.

I am certainly glad there are people here to help clear things up like that.
