51 vs. 52-56 SPARK PLUG WIRES; just wondering what
51 vs. 52-56 SPARK PLUG WIRES; just wondering what is/are the difference (s) between the wire
sets because I'm told there are differences and I plan to put the '51 engine in a 1954 car. I
desire the 90-degree plug ends over the spark plugs as they did in 54, right? I want the wires
to look like they were installed in 1954.
So, which type spark plug wire set would I order for this engine and why??

I did speak w/Ken and he told me Dave was too busy to talk,
plus they don't have time to give out free advice, plus the
52-56 set won'r fit a 1951. GO FIGURE!!! Seems irrational

I'd call dave back or leave a message for him to call you. I find it very hard to believe that dave is too busy to talk to customers or give advice. He is one of the foremost authorities in the club.
Also I would see no difference in the wires from 51 to 56, or for any 6 cyl from 48 to 56.0 -
Did anyone find out what wires to use? I also have a '51 that needs plug wires and I also would like the 90 degree boots on the plugs. Is there a NAPA part number, or someone else's?0

Actually the difference may be in which type of wire set you want for your 308. The twin H setup used a 90 degree turn on the boot toward the coil because of the air cleaner interference. The 2 barrel setup had plug terminals straight up as it had no air cleaner problems and could ride higher over the head. That was the way the factory did it.0

I buy wires for pre-75 small block Chevy, and don't use the two longest wires. You can get any type of core that way, and even use the 10mm racing wires for the high performance engines.

not to knock Dave K or anything, but lifetime wires with the correct boots and ends from Autozone or the likes, is really the way to go, for any kind of driver. Want to make it correct for show? get the packard cable style...0
