Saw this on ebay, perhaps some Hudson stuff is in the mix. Shame to see it all go to the crusher!!!

  • If the seller were smart, he'd first sell as many parts as he could. Then he could call the wreckers and still get his money.
  • The Killer is the transportation costs.
  • A killer for who?

I'll go. My daughter and grandson live in Indianapolis. The exit mentioned is only 20 miles away from her. Another reference is about 30 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport.

Let me know where to meet. I have a Chevy Astor and can remove seats to help haul parts. We can always get a one-way rental to help haul sheet metal or blocks and trannys.
  • I'll go if there proves to be anything there of interest. First, maybe we should ask the seller if any Hudsons are present.

I will be going out I-70 on Tuesday the 12th to St Louis. I have a stop in Muncie in the morning and Indianapolis around noon. If it is still daylight when I go pass Clayton IN I will stop. Unless someone is going this weekend.

Reading the Ebay ad it was my impression you had to buy the total lot of cars not just the parts you wanted.

Jon, if there is something you wanted looked at email me at 1952_Hudson_8(at)comcast.net

I got the impression for the ad that eh seller may not know what a Hudson is. However, I could be wrong.

Maybe we can appeal to the proper sense of recylcing and ask to get some parts that do recycle well (wink, wink, nudge nudge) Hudsons.
  • I still say that the seller would be wise to make some extra money (that above what he claims to have been offered for scrap) and let people pick at what's there. Since he can write an ebay listing, I bet he can read. If so, he should be able to read whether any of the cars has Hudson written somewhere on it.
  • I think I can see one early stepdown hudson, in the first photo, upper right corner. Looks to b perhaps a 48-51, probably a commodore, or hornet.

The rest of the cars look to be a mix of 40-early 50's cars, plenty of Ford, Mopar, GM, studebaker, got to be some hudsons in there...
  • It does look like there may be at least one Hudson rusting in peace. Kind of eerie, all the cars have now blended into the dismal surroundings. Based on the photos, it is unlikely that anything of use remains. But who knows.

    Agreed.

I was hoping to rescue parts that can be rebuilt as long a decent core still exsists.

I will be out of Computer touch until Friday. The auction will be over by then. If someone who is interested wants to email me a phone number I will call them with what I see. I got an email from the owner he has interested parties looking over the weekend, also this trip depends if I have the time to stop after my work commitments on Tuesday

  • Since so few yards exist that still have any Hudsons, someone should make a visit. Who knows, there may even be parts on other makes that would work on a Hudson.
  • I had read on the H.A.M.B. that most of the cars are pretty picked over and in bad shape, but maybe there's some good pathc panels and such to be had.

The only big pieces I could use are maybe some better fenders ('47 rear, '37 fronts). Need some '37 trim stuff, too, but I bet anything like that would be long gone.

Is anyone going this weekend? I think I'm going to be tied up this weekend, but if not, I might want to go just for the photography opportunity. :)

If you go, and want to post up pictures on the board, get in touch with me and I'll host the photo's for you, or even make up a quick website...
