Custom Floor Mat Interest
For some time I have wanted to get a set of custom floor mats for my '50C8 but have not found anyone that sells such things. I have purchased them for my Studebaker Hawk that look like: http://www.studebaker-intl.com/pages/800526.htm
I am toying with the idea of designing and arranging with a manufacturer myself to get a set but of course getting one pair would not be practical. Is there an interest out there for custom floor mats?
If I do this I would probably have the Hudson Triangle w/ Ships and Castles embroidered with selection of thread color, similar to the Studebaker International approach.
This is not a certain thing but just to gage interest.
Thanks

Dan, There was actually a Hudson version of what you are talking about with the company logo in relief over the transmission hump area. Maybe someone on the forum has one. Somehow I keep thinking of seeing one in brown rubber.0

There's a place called GG Bailey that does custom carpet mats. Although they didn't say anything about using trademarked materials (Hudson name, logos, etc.), they did say that emboidery is limited to about eleven characters/spaces. So, doing something like "Hudson Hornet" or "Twin H Power" would not be possible.0

Chester & Herod in Escondido, CA also has carpets (no repro rubber) for Hudsons. Average price $225 for 800 cut pile and $125 for trunk.

This effort is only for custom floor mats, not carpets. There are at least 2 or 3 carpet suppliers including HET member Bob Rosol, where I got my carpets.0

Take a look at the factory supplied to dealer mat/carpet I like this one.0

Um, OK, who said anything about carpets? Carpet mats are being discussed but what about RUBBER floor mats?0 -

I was unaware of Mr. Rosol. That is a new Hudson Supplier name for me.
I know this started as rubber only. I have called all the Hudson vendors in the list I had for interiors and NONE of them had rubber or a source.

I'll take one for the front and one for the rear of my passenger compartment. How do we make an order?0 -
Metro Molded has small black rubber mats (HUDSON in block letters with Hudson logo flanking it) that are perfect for the rear or can be sewn into a carpet (like a heel pad) or carpet mat. Perhaps they could make a larger version for the front and trunk.0

The mats I am proposing are an embroidered carpet, also called carpet protector, as in the link, not a rubber mat, as in the factory type.

As noted Bob Rosol (see his ad in WTN) in NJ has complete carpet sets that cover both front and back seats. These are well made and work great.0 -
K-gap has add the small rubber mats from metro to inventory. They are 12"X17' You will see a pic in the next WTN.
