Does anyone have any experience with running this set up? What is the performance like with twin twin power ?

  • No experience with this beast. However, it looks cool and I'd imagine that it could up performance. Although the seller says there are no cracks, I would be concerned about the stress that occured when the one carb was damaged.
  • I sold one about 20 years ago for that much. Nice manifold & they were heated by water and made from Alumummuinum

Are there any interferance problems in using one of those with a Clifford header? Also, if they were heated with water, I assume thats what the two inlets are below the carbs? Any problem with just plugging them off and forgetting about the water (I've got no heater, so no unattractive hoses meandering about, and don't really want any- I'd rather bundle up). What carbs do they use? So many questions. . .
  • I can answer the question about the Clifford header, no clearance issues exist. They compliment each other very well.

Also, about the heater tube. You can pipe it from the water pump bypass - through the manifold - then back into the head where the heater would have hooked. It's kinda nice to have a water heated manifold and I'd make use of it regardless, just because you have it.

I have one of those manifolds, and would rather use the Weber DGV carburetors or their Carter/Motorcraft/Holley derivatives. It would also make one heck of a direct port EFI manifold due to the angle of the runners and the ability to position the injectors smack in the middle of the port's airstream.

  • The water outlets are the 2 horizontal pipes that run the length of the carbs. It appears there are 2 additional ports that were tapped on this one. Any small base 4 bolt carbs from this vintage will probably fit. Most people I would assume would use the Carter WGD's.
  • oh man i reaaaaaaaaaallllyyyyy want that inlet to jam on my 308 but being here in oz and not real sure how to use ebay is killing me. he ships to usa not here is the biggest problem. how often do these come up?
  • You sure about not hooking up the hoses for water heat?

I thought the same about the Clifford intake with a 4bbl

Edelbrock on my 308 but had to go back and run heater

hoses to it. Without the hot water it was the coldest

natured beast I have ever driven.

I have never had problems blocking the exhaust

crossovers or running intakes without one with any of

the v8 engines I have build and that been quite a lot of

    different manufactures of v8's.

Problem is that this 308 even with the hot water heat is

hard to start when its below 60 degrees outside.

It will easily foul the plugs and the jetting feels right from

    a driveability & performance standpoint.

Once its up to 150 degrees on the gauge and above its

runs exactly like it should... it screams as a matter of fact.

If you are in Minneapolis Minn-a-snow-da! like your location

says you may want to add the heat because don't you

guys get like 12 weeks of spring and 40 weeks of winter?

Oh, wait that should have been in that other post about

    the weather....
