46 trim question

What type of metal is the grill for a 46 super six?? Is it stainless steel. I want to clean up on a buffing wheel but dont want to damage it ......so how to do it right? thanks JR new guy

    THE GRILL IS ALL STAINLESS EXCEPT THE CENTER LADDER AND THE PIECES THAT BOLT TO FRONT EDGE OF HOOD. di SET SAND THE STAINLESS WITH 650 THEN 12--, AND THEN BUFF ON CLOTH WHEEL WITH ABRASIVE BLOCK. GIVES A MIRROR FINISH. THIS REQUIRES A COMPLETE DISSASSEMBLLY, hAVE FUN TAKES FOUR DAYS TO GET IT BACK TOGETHER, LOL BILL ALBRIGHT

    Bill I can't make out what you just wrote. Do you mean to wet sand the stainless with 650 grit and then 1200 grit and then buff? what color abrasive block do you use?

    Hi Hudson Dave here. you will need a 3600 RPM buffer or you will be there until next Christmas LOL . If you need any of the grill piceses let me know I have three or four complete grills . Hudson Dave www.FatWhiteWalls.com
