Can anyone tell me what a 1950 Hudson Pacemaker is worth. This car I have is a 2 dr,not running, has minor rust and body damage but will still take considerable work to restore.I may list it on ebay if I decide not to keep it.Thanks Mike.

Looks like a coupe to me (as opposed to 2-door sedan). If so it would be worth slightly more than a 4-door in the same condition. But even so, from where I sit it is maybe a $500 car, if not badly rusted. The real test is what is going on in the perimeter frame from the rear wheels on back. If THAT is rusted badly, then we are probably talking a good deal less than $500 AND you would not be well-advised to undertake restoration.

(Any restoration you do to this car would never get you a good financial return, but if you enjoy working with your hands, and plan to hold onto the car over a number of years, you will probably be paid back in ways other than money.)

If you happen to like this make and year of car, you may want to consider selling this one for what you can get, then spending maybe $5,000 and getting a halfway decent version of it, which you can then gradually bring up to 'show condition' over the years even as you drive it around and have fun with it.
  • If the visor is in good shape and complete you could probably sell that for $200-300. I have a hard time from the picture telling whether it's a Coupe or Brougham. A coupe would be more desirable.
  • I was just curious as to value.Thought I might sell if I could make a few bucks.I own a street rod shop in Russell Kansas and may build this for a customer loaner car as I reeally like this body style. Thanks

  • Good point about the visor! It looks to be a Brougham, one in need of some aggressive restoration.

Tripower? Bill, have you switched to Pontiacs or did you mean Twin-H power? :)

It's Tripower, I saw it at the Western Regionals this summer. I was drooling all over it.

Well, I'm glad that you haven't defected to the Pontiac camp. Bill, your car sounds wild. How does it perform?

    Really?

I thought that cast iron shrouding between the carbs was a heat duct straight from the exhaust.

I'd like some more details about this tri-power outfit.
