Coil spring selection - 49 coupe

I'm part way through getting some new parts for my 49 coupe. Since dad and I swapped in the hemi on center, the car has sat off to the drivers side a little. I'd like to get some reassurance on what I'm thinking is correct. And some advice on selecting some new coil springs.

Stock front spring is as follows according to the hudson shop service manual 1948-1952 and my measurements.

Outside dia: 5.5"

Coil dia: 0.75"

Spring rate: 386 in/lbs

Free height (pass side): 15.375"

Free height (drivers side): 15.75"

Height at ride height: 9.0625"

Now the manual doesn't jive with what I've always been told, that the passenger side spring is taller to compensate for the extra weight of the intake, ehxaust and part of the block hanging out over there.

Any ideas?
