A Hudson Site I found
Check this site out and make sure to read stuff under Hudson story link. I will not make any comments on the site other than I think the guy is really trying so don't be too hard on him. Had to share as things like this need a support group.

I don't understand why a black backgound is chosen for ANY site. Sorry but since I couldn't read much of ANYTHING... I hit the "delete"" button.0
-
Well, I'm not a nice person... sooooooooo....
What is "Houson Hornet Home?"
cmon..
And to make it better, my McAfee just picked up an unwanted spyware program called JS/Joke-Shake, file 095801FAd01 , while trying to give the benefit of the doubt, and read the hudson story link.
yeah, great site.0 -
Get rid of the stinkin' black background so it can be read by people, and I'll give it another shot...until then, it stinks!0
-
Well, he sure can't spell.0
-
Anyone who likes Hudsons and Knightrider is OK in my book.0
-
What a melange of crap. Looks like a kid, or someone with a "young" mentality, likes Hudsons. Hudson Curse? What the heck is that? To boot, my virus programs didn't like that site.0
-
it is nice to see young people interested in hudson but i think he should do less day dreaming in school!!!! LOL0
-
Yup I think he came to like Husons from watching cars. He does own a Porsche though he says. But he needs to know throwing fireworks at animals to scare them isn't cool. And regardless of what he thinks the cops will not back him up because its New Years eve and he thinks he can do what he wants. Found that entry in his Hudson story quite disturbing so I am hoping he is pretty young.0
-
Okay, here this is in it's entirity...
I ventured further, even though my virus scan told me no...
For the sake of "51HornetA" I hope this was a joke. It HAS to be... There needs to be a support group for people like this, for sure.....
I made the best parts red type... to enhance the reading experience.
This is a real story about a junkyeard hudson hornet
Day 1
there are 2 old beat up hudson hornets at a old junkyeard in Greenwood
they may or may not be for sale
Day2.
I went there today 30 minutes each way just to find the 2 junckers are not for sale
Day3
I spent all my time doing computer animation
EX:
Day4
the days move slowly on there is nothing to do but wate hope hope for one thing the Hudson hornet
Day5
Days and nights go by. I watch endless shows of Knightrider in my room. Days go by a loved one and a pet die and are baried. The hurse is in frount of my car and a police car is in front of the hurse.About 34 cars drove soley along a narro road cars pull over to the side as they pass wateing for the long line of cars to go by. I drive by a car show and see a old Hudson out of the corrner of my eye. That night I lie in my bed the cat asleep next to me purring in my ear. Lizzie my cat had passd away and now I had Shadow, I thought I would never be able to get a Hudson hornet I have two classic fords and one classic Porshe. Most people would think that was enough and that I should be blessed that I even have a classic car or even a Porshe. But still they say reach for your dreams and that is what I will do.
Day6
It seens sence I had not though about Hudson hornets for a log time I though about them but never realy though hard looked on websites that sell them. I truly loved Hudson hornets and was forgeting about them like a puppy that was given as a present on a kids birthday. I brought hudson hornets back in my life the day that a hudson hornet drove down the road I live on. I was in my car at a stop light. When I saw the hudson hornet go by I opened the car door and was about to get out and run after that thing , but then the light turned green
Day7
After looking on the internet for hours I though I should turn to the juck yeard agein. Even though the junk year is what I warn people not to go to to get a car. May not a hudson hornet but an old car a hudson hornet was my dream car though and that is what I wanted most.
Day8
I found out early today that this weekend I wa going to see the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Other people thought seeing the Hudson hornet would make me want a Hornet even more. They though I would go Hudson crazy. But still MY friends shout Ponies?!! ouy in the middle of a store and every one looks at them like there crazy LOL. I spend houres on the computer each day looking for the right car. Some day..... * goes crazy*
Day10
My classic Ford truck broke down I got it to run again but it won't go into 5th or reverse. My family might get rid of it. I dident want that to happen I have had that truck all my life it was a colocters, going up in valu each year. Two days later it was dark I got most of the christmas lights up. I was going in to the store to get another set for the roof. I had just shifted to 3rd and was about to go to 4th but the gear shift would not go I thought the gear box was get worse and worse. I pulled over to the side of the road. When I was shifting to 3rd I had shifted more at a angle and had gone to 5th.I tryed to put it in reverse but it would move but 5th worked. I was so happy I ran in to walmart and shouted at the top of my lungs my MY TRUCK WORKS after that I got wird looks from the people around me.
Day 11
I found out today that this summer I my be geting a old car. Most likely a Hudson of some kind.It seemed so far to it was summer and at the same time so close I coudent help blabing on about cars every now and them but people got usted to it.
Day 12
A week or 2 of bad dreams and knight mares and I lurn my truck is going to the shop to get fixed tomorrow and that I am probuly geting my dream car. Whats the point of wating to tell me the knightmares I had my faimly new I was haveing knightmares I gess it was just there way of surprising people. Like 2 days ago I had to get on top of the roof of my house to put Christmas lights up.We have a one story house but it's old and old houses are big. My dad was helping me. I took my shoes off to get a better grip in the roof ( Crocks are not the best thing to ware when your on the roof of a house) When we were about to get down my dad throw my shoes off the roof. The ladder steeps were cold and skinny. I was cold it took me 10 mins. befor I would even come down it was so cold. I I found out 2 things that day never take your shoes off on a roof and the tail gate of a truck makes a great trampoline
Day 13
And agein it's the weekend and I am geting a Cristmas tree. It's fate is to be cut down, covered in colorful lights and ornments, them to be knocked over by the cat, finaly burned in the brush pile down by the gardon. 2 of my 3 cars are going to the shop to get fixed leveing my faimaly with a Porshe. Which means you can not go to drive up lines your you will get a weird look and only 1 or 2 people came go some were at a time 4 if 2 people would like to be squished in the 2 back seats of the car. Who ever though of trying to tie a Cristmas tree to the top of a Porshe and stuffing gifts in the back I will be the first to find out.
Day 15
Finaly we got the lights up. The Dryer is being fixed tomorrow. I have found a cool car that I might get next month. Also the car can be delivered to my house so I don't have to drive 234 miles to go get it. So you my think my life has been good for the last 2 or 3 days. But the gas prices went you for Cristmas. We had to take my cat to get spayed 2 tanks of gas each way. Finaly I had to take her to get her stices out. I spent 2 hours gong there with a cat hiseing barfing and makeing noses like a car horn underwater. I got there and the vet told me the cat pulled the stices out or something. So I had to drive back home with the cat and wasted 4 tanks of gas. Maby I should get a new car..:(
Day 16
I want to get my faimaly a sports car for Christmas. I have money for the carbut not for the taxes and all that stuff.I don't know what else to get. A cover for the Porshe? A trailer? I don't know I worry about that next week. But I do have to worry about my dog. She ate a hole thing on rosen you know to put on a bow for a violin, viola, cello, bass. New $20 rosen and my dog eats it... :'( so much for that. I had to play viola at some school tonight. They asked me to play with all the 6th and 7th grade hannded me the music like they think I would know it that was a dezaster
Day 17
Christmas is coming soon. My cat got out of the house today I coucht her but then when I was carring her into the house she jumped, was clinging onto the lights on thee roof. My cat fell and the lights with her. I snached her up tossed her into the living room ( The living room is used for Christmas it's the room we go into least often the main room we use is the den) that was a mistack because when I was puting up the lights agein the living room door was closed and the cat had to go to the bath room the litter box was down the hall in the cat room. So she climed up into a bg pot that had a tree in it the tree was about 9 feet tall. She went to the bathroom in it and dirt went every were when she was baring it a mess dirt got all over the presents and the cat just stood there with her head tilted sideways trying to look a sweet and cute.
Day 18
Today finaly I fould a gift green wind sheld wipers and blue lights that go under to car. I did not think they would have stuff like that in town so I went to the mall 1 hour from our house and all they had there was some shiny hubcaps. Then on the way back I cheacked the local auto shops and they had what I was looking for but I did not have enought money so I had to go to the bank machine get money and go back to the store. I had a headack for the rest of the day. :'(
Day 19
Christmas is over I got some stuff for my car. My family liked there gifts. But for some reason it was warmer thannormal Christmas day and we were messing around hiding easter eggs at Christmas I don't know why but we did. My aunt stuck a egg in the exost pipe of her PT cruzer and we couldent get it out at first but we did with a stick. We told my uncal to start the car but he would not this is what he said" I'm afraid it's going to suck it up or something"
Day 20
Today I had to get fireworks for new years. the store had so many people in it, it have exploded along with the fireworks. I only had $30 with me so I could not buy alot like we did the past years. I had to stand in line in the store for about 20 min. It was realy cold in there and they cept playing this stupid music. I finaly got home used at least haph the popit's saring the animals out side. Before the stupid people next door that are building houses. ( I mean the were at least 30 feet away from me : P ) I worned them that it's my New years and I could do what ever I want when I want were I want it, and could call the cops on them if I was annoyed by them.0 -
Sad, very sad.0

ALL FLAMING IS REPORTED TO THE COPS AND REMBER MY DAD IS A COP!!!!!!!
I can't help but make a couple of observations here. Okay, more than a couple.
A real bad dose of princess attitude here, and its not coming off very well at all.
Back off the CAPS! God help my daughter of the same age should I catch her screaming like this at crowd of folks like I'm interpreting these posts to be. Just because your Daddy and Mommie love you and you like Hudson cars, that will not automaticly endear you to everyone or all Hudson enthusiasts of every age.
Threats against folks who are free to speak their mind, whether you agree or not, is rediculous. America is a nation based on free speech. Report this post to the cops? Rediculous. You cannot infringe upon a person's right to speak their opinion as long as it doesn't include a physical threat to your person.
Now the good observations
I'm tickled that that generation below me has discovered the Hudson. I'm a generation behind most folks on this board - and I respect them very highly. I am very appreciative of their knowledge, experience, and advice. If I could offer any advice: lighten up, learn, and respect those ahead of you.
I'm actually happy that a website has been created that highlights the Hudson and done by a new generation. Regardless of typos, a great deal of research has gone into some of the facts, considering the age of the website author. Facts that most young people are completely oblivious to. My compliments on your study of the Hudson, keep it up and continue learning more. I learn something new everyday.
Best of luck, and I mean that sincerely. I hope you get your computer and the typos fixed soon. I admit to making typos all on my own, and some I never catch. I would advise you keep your personal stuff and your car stuff separate. Mixing the two isn't a good thing, at least put them in separate places. Folks looking for Hudson information really aren't interested in anything but Hudson.
I was your age once. And had Hudson dreams of my own. I read alot of your stuff and see quite a bit of my own youthful impatience and automotive desire. I can't say I had any worthwhile vehicles in my youth at all, but I did have my dreams. I stuck with them and found people who helped me along the way. I am very appreciative of that. Sometimes a flaming or disagreement has led to a greater discovery once I stepped back and reviewed it.
Tone it down a tad and spend some time reading this forum (using the search function for whatever topic you are interested in) as the library of information here is rather large. You'll soon learn to respect the vast knowledge regarding the car you have come to love. Several parts still exist and can be had new. You could probably fill your "workshop" section with technical issues and parts sources ( with appropriate reference of course!).
I'm actually on your side, not all the comments you get in life will be positive but can be useful depending on your character.

You are gonna be just fine. You've got alot more folks cheering for you that you imagine.
For the record, I have a daughter your age - she's into Hudson Traveller coupes. Check those out, they are very nice. A recent essay she had to write for school involved a Traveller coupe and a '37 Hudson Terraplane pickup truck.
My other daughter, 6, is a Cars (the movie) fanatic. Her favorite line is, "Was that floatin' like a Cadillac, or stingin' like a Beemer? I'm confused." Her favorite real Hudson car is the "Wasper" (mine too!).
Welcome, and be sure to join the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club - I can attest that your Hudson dreams can be made true inside the club. Just look at the "Paxton Supercharger" thread in this forum!
Best wishes,

Ok I Will
The cars movie rocked
I know it's not a wasper but this is for you and your daughter the hudson hornet Doc was based on I had to go to Darolington to to take this pic.....0 -
Wow! Flaming is a crime? I'm sure the cops are all over that one! Learn to spell! Or, at least use your spellcheck function! The computer does not misspell words FOR you, it simply reflects YOUR inputs. Blaming the computer is rich!
Calm down, grow up a bit, and stop acting like a 12-year-old, and you might get a little respect. Other than that, our response to you should come as no surprise, Twin-H!0 -

Thanks! I did not know that car was at Darlington, a good reason for a visit for a picture of my own. I had wondered why "Doc" was blue, now I know.
Here's a picture of the rugged "Wasper" and its biggest (littlest) fan. You know with a smile like that, she's all about Waspers - LOL
My best advice would be to join the HET soon, get your hands on a roster of members, and find some folks in your area along with the local chapter of the club. Then maybe you can find a good Hornet to work with besides the one in the junkyard. It was probably a member of the club who you saw on the road in a Hornet. They are everywhere! You just have to know where to look.

^^Nice car
This summer when I can get some money I might get a hudson your some kind of old car from hemmings or something.......
OK, and like I said before there are problems with my computer thats why some of the stuff I typed is mispelled First of all My computer is old and has been over loaded with stuff some stuff including spellcheck.
Also some times my keyboards reads the buttions wrong for example some times is a push y the computer might read it as u and hafe the time back space shift and enter will not work. I will soon hook the labtop up to the internet. I am not "full of it" I tell the truth......0 -
Ok, Ill spend more time researching them and maby go to classic cars on route 66 this summer to see what they have there...0

I joined the H.E.T at 16 years old, and now over 30 years later, I can't think of a better car club or more friendly and helpful people. I now have friends for life!0

Hudson, Essex, Terraplane Club, and the Bi- monthly magazine is called "The White Triangle News" Or as we say WTN. In my opinion, its one of the best car club publications in the country. There is a great website that has information on joining the club. There's local chapters with lots of "Hudson Meets." And you can get good advice on purchasing your own Hudson. Ownership of a Hudson is not required. Happy Hudsoning!
P. S. If your dad's a cop, bet he can't catch a full race Hornet!0 -
I agree about the WTN. I started reading it when I was about 10 or 12
I usually try to save it for business trips, it makes great airplane material. It's worth joining HET just for that alone (included with membership).

Thanks....^^0

Hey Twin-H!
It's really cool to hear from teens that like these old orphan cars. (An "orphan" car is the term we use for cars whose "parent" company is no longer in business or stopped making that particular brand of car, like Hudson, or more recently, Oldsmobile and Plymouth. Just in case you've never heard the term.)
When I was your age, it was 1985 and "Back to the Future" had just came out, that's how old I am! I came from (and still live near) a small Wisconsin town where my graduating class was one of the largest with a whopping 72 students. I grew up liking old orphan cars, especially a brand of cars called Kaiser, 'cause that's what my dad had (and still has). It was pretty hard trying to talk to kids my age about them since they weren't "cool" like Trans Ams, Corvettes or even '57 Chevys. I didn't cave in to peer pressure, which was pretty hard-- being a small-town high school, it was pretty "clique-y." I stuck with what I liked and decided to be my own person. I congratulate you for doing the same--it's not easy for a teen. Been there, done that.
I have two stepsons, ages 15 and 20. My 15-year-old is a "driver-in-training" and he loves my dad's '54 Kaiser Manhattan. He can't wait to drive it once he gets the hang of a stick shift. I keep telling him that three-on-the-tree with overdrive is a lot different than Mom's '03 Hyundai with five-on-the floor, and there's no power assist with the steering and brakes like a modern car, but he wants to learn anyway 'cause he thinks it's such a cool car. All his friends at school--the same school I went to--think it's pretty cool, too. Kinda nice how things change in 22 years.
Don't ever let your dreams die, kiddo. Do everything you can to make them come true.
Best wishes,
-Tom-
P.S. If you have a PlayStation 2, you'll love the Cars game--it is WAY cool!! In the arcade and two-player modes, you can play Doc Hudson if you get enough points built up (which isn't hard) and even pick his Fabulous Hudson Hornet paint scheme. I play it a lot, even though I've beaten the game a couple of times, it's still great to play.
Yeah, even at 39 years old, I still tell people, "Hey-- I'm a teenager with 26 years of experience!!:D0 -
I have always loved old cars:). I can't wate into this summer when I have the money to get one.Is the Trans ams modled after the 944 Porshe because my dad has a 944 and they look alot alike?
Ill have to get that game the PSP one is fun to.
I lurned how to do a stick shift when I was 10 the best way I think to lurn is to first lurn how to do a stick shift on a tractor (lurned that at 8) and it's a lot easyer when you lurn on a car ^_^0 -
Not sure what the Porsche 944 looks like (I'll Google it) but it wouldn't surprise me. Sometimes it seems like companies "borrow" (steal, really) design themes from other makes of cars. Google a pic of the 1960 Plymouth Valiant and then a pic of the 1959 Studebaker Lark and you'll see what I mean. It looks like the guys at Plymouth copped the whole front end off the '59 Lark.
As far as Hudsons are concerned, look at any 1948 Hudson, the first year of the step-down design... then Google a 1949 Mercury or a 1949 Lincoln. Sure looks to me like they copied Hudson!0 -
Well, you guys all knew my reply was coming....
here goes...
Hey, Twin-H.....
welcome to the Hudson Forum.
now that the welcome is out of the way, here's my thoughts on your original rants, which I think should be properly, and acurately addressed.
Call the cops, tell your dad who's a cop on all of us that criticized your website. I challenge you to do that. In fact, I welcome you to do that. Do you know why?
Well, I'll tell you why. Because you have no legal basis to make such a claim. In fact you have set yourself up, and even worse, your father, if in fact, he is a police officer, to a certain degree, because you cannot wield the power of knowing, or being related to a cop, to get the results you wish, by using it as a threat. I don't think you can legally do such a thing, but I could be wrong.
What I do know is this. What you might think is illegal about someone critcizing your website, is in fact, not. If you read H.R. 3402, which you will have to go to section 113, where buried in this item of legislation, states (paraphrased)
"an individual who uses the Internet with the intent to "annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass" someone without revealing his identity arguably commits a federal crime. Penalties include fines and up to two years in prison."
now, on the outside this looks great, but in all honesty, none of us have done anything to make our identities "anonymous". Quite contrary, I think we all got a good handle on who each of us are, but you? not sure who you are...
However, PM'm me, and anyone else you did, potentially, sets you up more so than it does with any of us. Just for argument's sake, I assume you are not trying to be anonymous. If you are, that hudson hornet you're dreaming about, will be a bit further out of reach.
Perhaps in the future, you might consider your approach to the members here. Your website needs a lot of work. The spelling and readability is horrendous, even now, my spyware filter trips every time I try and access any section of the site. I don't know if this is a product of your creation, or someone built the site for you. The design is flawed, the background makes the readabiltiy hard, taking random pictures from the web and attaching them to your website, without permission is poor internet ettiquette, and depending who's pictures they are, possibly illegal. (use one of my pictures, without permission, you will find out what a problem it is, I guarantee...)
So, what I would take away from this is the critique of the website, sure it needs improvement, but to look at it on a very basic level, I think it's great that anyone puts a website up about what I like. I wish it would have been executed better, because, for those that might not know about the subject matter, acesses that website, makes it very difficult for other hudson owners to promote the credibility and honor associated with the make, when the initial exposure they have is perhaps with a website like yours, with the issues we all pointed out.
So that's my take. Hope you can find something constructive out of this.0 -
Ok this is what Im planing on doing....
Fixing the spelling (when I get internet on the labtop)
look over my spywear blockers
make the text a brighter and easyer to read.0
