Last year I'd bought a set for my 1928 essex from AA Bearing supplys in Victoria, it included inner and outer cones and outer bearings, he did not have in stock the inner bearings, they are hard to find apparently! they are advertised in the Australian Restored Cars Magazine.0

Jeffery
Are you able to supply a contact number / e-mail from the Australian Restored Cars magazine advert for me also for AA bearing supplies?
I am in the process of trying to rectify a front bearing problem right now on my '28 Coach.

Thanks for that Jeffery - I will contact them for details. I am most impressed with your car! I love the wheels.

Maybe we could find some replacements from the dimensions.0

I got a local bearing specialist on the job and they came up with their replacment options. I have e-mailed the details to Geoff for his opinion on their suitability so will see what his thoughts are.
I managed to get a NOS cup for the inner bearing from a local engineering store where it had been sitting gathering dust for years so I am covered in the immediate to get mobile again. I havn't contacted the Australian outlet yet but will keep their contact details safe for the future.
I certainly appreciate everyones input. Will post further when I hear from Geoff.

I fitted the wire wheels to it last year, i could not get the timber ones to ever run true, it had 3 different tyre rims for a start. When we bought it, it was ready for a V8 conversion and it was in pieces and being an older restoration, all we did was throw it back to together and got it registed. It came with the complete set of wires, hubs/drums, hubnuts and the original wire wheel spanner, since then no complaints. It's still has 6 volt system and vacuum tank, only hydrolic brakes which were done when the car was restored in early 70's.0

Oaky, the replacement bearings which Alistair has located fit in with Murphy's Law, sub section IV-17 - "Interchangeable parts exchange fundamental differences". the original bearing 2554/2520 can be substituted with M88048/M88010, but you will have to get a .250 collar machined to fit against the inner stub axle and machine the housing out .0725". The original 2382/2320 can be replaced with 1986/1920, but you may have to use a thick washer between the thrust washer and the nut, as the bearing is .1/8" thinner.

This bearing company claims that they have 2554/2520 and 2382/2310 Timken bearings. On the web page shown below enter the part number into the Part Number box, select Timken for Brand and then click Find It.

Mars55, thanks. I have sent a query to them. I am interested to see what answer I receive.
Geoff, thanks for posting your reply on those replacements.
