This is total BS, why was my thread deleted?
I had a poll on here that had to do specifically with the hudson forum, and my future of participation, and I would very much like to see where it went, or what happened to it. Please restore the thread, or provide reason why it was taken down, or I will. thank you.

I saw the mess that was brewing when I looked at the board earlier this AM- had determined that I was going to make my opinions on the whole thing known when I got to my office. Now, I'm relieved to see ALL the polls have gone away. First, the Ron vs. Doug poll was disturbingly similar to those playground "petitions" that asked us to "sign if you hate Billy". I'm not havin' any part of that. I didn't get to read your entire post introducing the "thumbs up or thumbs down for Hudsonkid" poll, but I wasn't going there, either- you have to decide for yourself whether you want to be a part of this board. I have appreciated some of your input, but recently "not so much"- getting to clique-ish and political. I think many would appreciate staying closer to the Hudson stuff. Finally, Lew's poll on whether or not to delete the Ron vs. Doug poll probably started out with good intentions (lets see what the board thinks), but I think Lew must have seen that by doing so, he was contributing to the the "us against them" mentality- I'm glad to see that one gone, too. Maybe he took you at your challenge to make the decisions! Anyhow, Hudsonkid, IMHO, you're welcome to stay, but leave if you must. Please don't foment divisivness on the board, and be kind to the old guys who just want to fix their Hudsons and don't feel moved to participate in the rest of the foolishness. We don't need popularity contests on here, just interesting and helpful Hudson stuff. I've got a good used soapbox, free to good home, if anyone else needs one.0

Mike,
Well said.0 -
It's ok...the moderators were just doing what they thought best for the health of the forum and it's members...I made that point on another post and Hudsonkid agreed with me...I thought...
Hudsonkid, I like dissenting opinions, sometime it's good to question the "status-quo"... but for this item IMHO if you want to know more about rebuilt clutches and who does them and get some recommendations on where or what to do...I do think at this point it would be more constructive to try and re-phrase the question and make it a thread discussion instead a poll.
Peace to All!0 -
Hudsonkid, your participation is welcome here, it's just that your recent poll thingy seemed to hit a sour note with a lot of people (including myself). I don't know which of our moderators (there are several) pulled the plug, but the thread is now gone and irretrievable. Hey -- 1 out of 966 posts is still a pretty good batting average in my book.
It's one thing to ask people to vote on which Big Oil Companies or Gigantic Airlines they like the least / best. But when you're in a small "family' like ours, it's not so great to ask the in-laws to rate Uncle Bill versus Uncle Fred, at least in public!0 -
As Uncle Gene used to tell his wife when the discussion got too hot, "Let's change the subject. Let's talk about hogs. How's your folks anyway?"0

Hudsonkid, I guess you didn't see Lew's thread, before he deleted it. I voted to delete it, this morning, after reading a point that Lew made. By using a "poll" you could be getting bogus info, from a ficticous person. If we've got someone "Bad" on here, like the recent Fordracing45, by all means we should know, but to poll one good Hudson person against another is another thing. I just felt there was another way to get the information you needed. It didn't "offend" me or anything, and life will go on.0

I know Im the new guy here - I think this is a great forum !! hope this can just fade away and any hard feelings fade away too, hate to see anyone on here get upset and leave .0

With this, I bid the hudson forum farewell, at least for some time, forever, kind of doubtful. I enjoyed the opportunity to get to know each of you, and had many fond memories of the good times we each shared. I will still check my personal messages, so if you wish to correspond, feel free to drop the kid a line.
Just to hit the short list, Thank you;

Jay, thank you as well, for showing me further, much of the above, and being a formidable sparing partner. I wish you great success with your car.

Bill, thanks for the level of expertise you bring to the board. Always was fun to debate the armor all on the head gasket thin, maybe I'll try it.
niels, I keep wondering if chicks do dig you, but anyhow, I wish I could help one of those hudsons off your hands, I liked the 51 coupe.
66Patrick, even though we ha our differences you proved yourself a worthy sparing partner on the board, hope I get the chance to meet you someday, you're probably a cool guy.
Little Paul, well, what can I say? glad I got to be part of your fan club, you're a great guy, you Pittsburg guys do some nice work. It is terrific to see that kind of heart with members of the club.

Cliff, thanks for being just a super nice guy, I wish the hudson club had 100 of you.
Ken heart of texas, I haven't agreed with you on every point, but thanks for bringing me and hudsons together on the internet. if it were not for the information on your site, I would never have been able to do a lot of the stuff with my hudson. Thank you.
Uncle Josh, your words of wisdom are appreciated, thanks for passing them along to the board.
Jon B. well, what can I say, with me out of your hair, It might make you have to pick up a part time job, but seriously, thanks for trying to keep me in line, you did the best for what you had to work with (Me!)
geez, I'm sure I left someone out, and I apologize for that. I wish you all the best of luck, and I will miss each and every one of you.
If you have links to any of my websites, I ask you to please remove them from your website. I will be purging these shortly, and for your own website continuity, you might want to update your own websites.
If you want to chat with me, stop by www.hudsonmotorcar.org, I might hang out there for a while.
In closing, I request that the moderators don't feel the need to take this down. I feel I am leaving, in a peaceful and fair manner, that this post does not offend, and that as a last request, that it be my final post.
Thanks!

Mom went in the hospital with a heart attack had to shock her 9 or 10 times to get the the old ticker reticking. Girlfriend goes in tomorrow for labour of our girl shes been high risk for the last nine months so the old hud will get some down time for awhile till dad gets her home and we can get back to redoing her.

Some folks just like to stir the pot and when the soup gets too thick they leave the kitchen.......
Will you inform us of yer NEW NAME that you will be using in the Forum or will we have to guess?0 -
I for one would like to know a little about the quality of the parts and if the person stands behind his products before shelling out over 500 bucks to replace the entire clutch system! I've dealt with one in the past and would have liked to have some info on the other guy, Since I have to replace everything again! But I guess the fourm loyalty believes in pay your money and take your chances. Then pay again if it dosen't work out! Thanks for the HELP.0

Leave it alone, and let it go please.0 -
Boozer I think you misread the situation and what was going on here. If you want to know about the clutch vendors then post the question, such as Has anyone dealt with John Smith and if so how was his service and products....... That is the question that should be asked about any vendor that you are not familiar with or have any knowledge of. Believe me if there are bad Hudson vendors out there we should know about them. By the same token if there are good ones out there we should be made aware of that also. However, to pit two vendors, that have had apparently good track records, against each other in a blind poll is not the right way to ask the questions.0

Absolutely correct. Thank you, Dan. Hudsonkid, I really hope you don't stay away or continue to take all of this personally. We woudn't open up to you if you weren't our friend. I should know; if I had a buck for every time I overplayed my hand in my life, including my own rants on this very forum, I could afford a dozen different Hudson Hornet trailer queens and a '41 Packard Formal Sedan to boot. But I took my lickings, thanked people for their concerns, apologized for the toes I stepped upon, and moved on. We're still your friends, man. Gotta let it roll off. Life's WAY too serious to take seriously.

When I was in the Army, we had 2 rules that apply to this situation:
1. Don't sweat the small stuff
2. It's all small stuff:D
(BTW, we didn't use the word "stuff.")
Also remember that every day is a good day when the door unlocks from the inside. (wise words from my buddy Collins:) , who spent 7 years as a "guest" in N. Vietnam)
And please remember, don't let other people's actions dictate your happiness.
Life is short, don't waste a minute of it.
Have a nice day
