The car looks terrible from the back. It has to be one of the worst choices for a custom that I've seen.

    What a shame...

You may be right about the design but since I didn't contribute to the project financially ,I really didn't have much say. Besides at least it keeps one more Hudson out of the crusher . That at least we can agree is a good thing .
  • C'mon guys, the rear treatment isn't that bad......then again, I like Jets:)

The ad sez it still has the Hudson engine, and it's only $8500. If the frame is still solid and if it runs, it's probably not a bad deal.
  • A Hudson " Ricer" ??? not a half bad car if the rear of it was redone back to stock
  • "Got Pimp" comes to mind! But then again, who says mine is any better?
  • Not a big fan of the lighting choice, and the trunk gap is pretty nasty..... But other than the choice for how to customize it, it seems* like decent work.

If it wasn't for the back-end I would have no problem with the rest of the car...makes me wonder if this car was totalled in the rear and this customizing was a workaround on a correct sheet metal fix..
  • I'd get rid of the wing and cut down the fins so the rear end contours like the trunk lid. More like the older stepdowns. Other than that its not bad.

How to you know it was this or the crusher? Are you familiar with the history of this car?

I should have been more positive with my first post. Overall it looks sharp, I've always liked the 54s. It does look like quality work from what I can see. I think the rear end was just a poor choice cosmetically. Doesn't seem like a bad price if the car is as good as the photos look.

I bet the car is fun to drive and gets lots of attention. Glad to see it's on the road, also glad it's not in my garage :)
  • Seriously, I am not one of the purists on the board and really like the well done Hudson customs. My only problem with this car is the wing. It is total overkill and not needed . The taillights are nice, but I hope you have a 60's T-bird setup to run them. Shaved tails would be be an improvement, '56 Caddy tails would be even better. Nice overall.

'56 Cadillac tails would have gone nicely with the "fins" they put on and then a simple, small third brake light on the fin. The humongous brake light looks like a solar panel.
