Which Tenn. Chapter to Join?
A fellow moved from Virginia to Crossville, Tennessee and asked me which chapter had any of its activities within an easy drive of his area. He's approximately halfway between Nashville and Knoxville in eastern Tennessee. Would he want to apply to the Midsouth or the Smoky Mountain Heartland? Should he contact the President of the particular chapter that's nearest him? Or might there be a member of the chapter who lives near Crossville, who might be a 'good neighbor' and get in touch with this fellow?
I'll monitor the Forum to watch any responses to my question. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Jon, The time zone is the divideing line between the MidSouth and Smoky Mtn. chapters. The Smoky Mtn chapter will have more meets closer to him than the MS chapter I think. We have at least one in Nashville every year and join with the S M C with Pigeon Forge meet in the fall. Our next meet is the 14 April about 135 miles from Nashville. The next one in a couple of months will be at Huntsville AL. Crossville is in the MidSouth chapter and we would like to have your friend join us.. Looking for Aunt Hester at our next meet. May even get him in a Hudson. BK.0

This highlights something that should be added to the Club website, roster, and the Hershey trailer - a map showing the rough chapter and regional divisions. I seam to remember text descriptions published somewhere in the past, but haven't seen that lately. It would be a great tool not only for new members and relocating members like your friend but also traveling members who would like to find a meet along their journey and those of us who may be to the far reaches of a chapter and may want to explore the activities of neighboring chapters.
I understand that this isn't really any help to your question, but whose jurisdiction would that fall under? the club officers? membersip chair? where the WTN lists the chapters, they urge members to participate in the activities of their nearest local chapter, but no real guidance in locating that chapter. I just filled out my renewal, the form asked for my local region and chapter, if I am a new member with a fresh application, how would I find those answers?0 -
I've raised this issue periodically for years, but with no success. The map exists in pdf format. Jon, maybe we put it on the Club website, with the URL or just a "go to the web site" note published in the WTN. The Links column down the left side of our home page could include one to the map.0

He would be closer to the Smoky Mtn. meetings - but kinda like myself and the Mid-South chapter, he's on the fringe of chapter lines.
Sometimes the Smoky Mtn meetings are closer for me, other times far away. The same goes for Mid-South meetings. He's going to be the same way. He may actually want to consider dual-citizenship.
Have this person give me a call! Not many Hudsonites within a close distance to me. I work in and around Crossville fairly often and even drive the Wasp to work sometimes. You never have too many Hudson friends.

Jon, this wouldn't happen to be Robert Davies, would it? If so, he's been in contact with Jerry Hobbs who is a member of our chapter. I have his e-mail address, but not a snail mail to send him a newsletter and an application.

Any problem with joining both? I used to belong to three chapters, now two. Is this against the rules? I do enjoy both chapters and the newsletters .0

I have membership in both the Smoky Mountain Heartland and the Mid-South Chapters. Each chapter has great people, and by belonging to both I get information that covers Hudson activity for the whole state.
No matter the chapter, He should maake sure to attend the Hudsons in the Heartland meet in Pigeon Forge TN, Friday, Oct 26- Sunday Oct 28, 2007.
