This is the one that has a "Super Eight" vin number. Someone along the line has made it a Commodore Eight!

  • I don't know about you guys but I always have been drawn to the lower priced models of vehicles when they have the biggest or most horsepower engine options and the Super 8 is one that fits that bill.

Too bad whoever restored this one changed it over to a Commodore 8 as

I would rather have the Super 8 model.

Guess I just wierd that way or something.....

  • This Car Was Bought From Mark Hyman By A Fellow In Redondo Beach, Cal, Who Had It Delivered And Found Out It Smoked And Needed An Engine Rebuild Mr Hyman Agreed To Take It Back And It Was Shipped Back To Him. Now Off To An Auction I Guess. Bill Albright

I'm amazed at that. I thought the car was in tip top shape...
  • Guy is darn lucky Hyman took the car back. If the engine needs a rebuild makes you wonder what else on the car is "detailing" for sale.
  • Hyman han a couple at the Auburn Auction over labor day last year also. He had 30 something price tags on them too.

Taking it back was cheaper than legal bills.

I believe I saw the tale end of the auction, just saw the back of the car as the concluded a "Hudson Commodore" finished at $28,000.
  • While it was on the block they pointed out the step down styling in detail and also the racing heritage. The car Looked great on TV!!! I don't know how severe the problems were with the engine, and I can't imagine that it was really bad. Isn't this about the price range this car should sell in??
  • In watching the auction on this car from start to finish, the paint work appeared less than perfect and the right rear skirt was ill-fitted. In my experiences, there's only one way to put the skirt on, unless the fender is out of wack.
  • the cal buy is very particular and told me the car smoked and had a lot of blowby, but ran ok, bill albright
  • I guess he can always pull the motor, and put in a 308, right?

    or an olds rocket...
