Roll Cage - Any Examples?

Even though I've worked hard to cut the weight down on the car for better performance lately I've been seriously thinking that since the Hudson is still torn apart of installing a roll cage of some sort.

I already have an idea or two about how I might build it - but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has done this with a stock stepdown and if they have any good pictures of the layout and mounting points used?

Thanks

  • Rambo, The Hornet Coupe owned by Bobby Johnson, which was raced in the Carrera Pan America, had a cage in it. I don't know if I have any pictures of it. Cage was done in the Portland area. Maybe Fred Connors has some pictures as he was working on the car at the time. Hudsonly Lou Cote
  • Are you looking into a cage or just a bar? Pop's car has a full cage but its a full out race car and the cage is built around NHRA rules for cars running 9.90 to 8.50 sec. in the quarter. I can take a few pic.s if thats what your looking for. Also Competition Engineering can custom bulid a cage for your car if you fill out a form with all your measurements.
  • I Didnot Build The Race Casr, Just Sponsered It And Suplied The Body. The Best Cage In So Cal Is Owned By Ivan Z And Buzz Stahl Of Escondido. They Are Building A 51 Pacemaker To Fun At Bonneville, The Had The Cage Done In Their Area By A Proffesional And It Looks Great. I Doubt If Buzz Has Any Photos But If You Get By His Place He Would Be Glad To Show It To You, Happy Hudson Raceing, Bill Albright
