Step down carpets

Who has the best replacement Carpets for Step-down Hudsons? Price and original type, matter ! Kanter sells a set for $189, but have heard complaints on them. The Step-down had a straight weave. On one of my step-downs, the rear carpet is perfect, but the front had a factory rubber mat, which self- distructed many years ago.

Just to clarify: you do know that the original type embossed mat is available, right?

It is? The full rubber mat like original with the Hudson Emblem in the center?

If so, that might work for one!

Bob Rosol is where I bought mine... You can get his number thru the ken cates web site. The original type was mohair but that is very expensive and not exact. Bob has nice pre cut plush with a close color match.

JOn, where can you get the step-down mat. I have seen the 46-7 type mat but not one for a step-down. Let me know, I need one.
  • I Used The Kanter Carpet On My Step-down, But I Am Not Real Happy About It. I Was Told That"lowes" Sells A Indoor Out Door Carpet That Is A Very Close Match To Orginal. Suppose To Have Ridges On It, And Not Very Plush. I Can't Say Onr Way Or The Other Because I Don't Think I Have Seen Orginal.

Oops! I thought that K-Gap's rubber mat worked for StepDowns but apparently (upon looking at their catalog) it's only authentic up to '47. I'm astounded to think that an embossed repro mat is available for my '37, but not for the most common Hudson style on the road, but there must be some good reason. Maybe it's molded and that's prohibitively expensive.
