hello, what is the chance of finding a utility box for my 37 coupe? hard to find this item? and/or the tail light assm. to mount the lice plate on left rear fender to make it authentic. thanks,dermott.

    Keep your eyes open, they do pop up from time to time. Maybe 8-10 years ago a fellow from Maryland contacted me (he had heard I was editor of the local Hudson newsletter) and OFFERED me the slide-out box that was sitting in his backyard. A little surface rust, but in great shape! I advertised it in our local newsletter with no success. At my urging, the fellow put a $100 price tag on the box, and sent the ad to the WTN. A fellow in Florida bought it. So, keep your ears open and watch the WTN ads!

    to find an original, MOST unlikely. Press Kale wanted to have a utility cp. & being unable to find the original parts, made the one in his red coupe.

    But as Jon said, if super lucky, maybe. I remember a man from Yuma, Az. on several occasions brought an NOS one to the big San Diego swap meet in Feb. but as no one at the time had a period cp. into which to put it, as far as I know, it went unsold.

    OF COURSE THESE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AT VINTAGE COACH, FONTANA, CA HAVE SLIDE OUT BOX AND TAIL LIGHTS FOR 37 YOURLIC PLATE GOES ON TRUNK LID AND LIGHT IS BELOW IT IN BACK OF BUMPER. EMAIL ME FOR DETAILS albrighthudsons@msn.com

    FYI,

    If interested I know a fabricator in Pa. that might build you a close replica utility box with tailgate, then you could obtain rollers & misc hardware from local garage door supplier. This person built a box to my spec's differently than Hudson and was not too expensive considering workmanship.
