1930 Hudson Great Eight Coach

Could you perhaps ask some specific questions? "More details" is a rather large subject! Are you simply curious about the number that are still in existance? The value (are you intending to sell it)?
If you're concerned primarily with valuation, can you describe the present condition of the car: is it an old, or a new, restoration? Or is it something that needs a lot of work? Does it run?0 -
Thanks for your reply. I have now added a picture to my profile...
The car is in an excellent original condition, still original paint job, licensed, wooden spoke wheels with certificate, classic untouched history, A1 mechanically, quality original interior.
I'm thinking about selling it, yes, but I have no idea about the rarity. Of course I'm curious about the number still existant. One experts report said it's defiantely the only one in Europe.0 -
Any '30 Hudson is a rare car but a coach was the least expensive body style Hudson built.
In what country are you located?0 -
I'm from Germany, but don't know how to find out anything about the car here. What would be the best way to sell it?0

Is it true that Hudsons were built as 8 cylinder models only from 1930 thru 1932?0
-
Ive seen this Hudson before a while ago when surfing the net same picture
but I cant remember where!0 -

I use this site to check for general value information but the numbers need to be used with discretion as there are many factors that affect the value of a car. They seem to be somewhat inflated as they are based on auction estimates and actual selling prices can be different than estimates.
The 1930 models are not as rare as the 1931 model year and I know of about
100 (plus ar minus) 1931 Hudson vehicles owned by Hudson club members and people not in the club.
Good luck with your car!

It was advertised in Australia - online and print....0

Thank you very much for that hp, Delfast, but if I check it there are prices only for the models Sedan, Coupe RS, Roadster and Phaeton 5P. There is no Coach listed...

Thank you very much brollan, but I don't need someone to restore the car. Do you know someone who ownes a car like this?

That is probably because Americans refer to a 2 door vehicle as a two door sedan. The term 'coach" is not often used here.

....also known as 'brougham', though perhaps Hudson only started to use that name later in the 1930's.
Soulsessions, in the final analysis there are so few cars of this type sold anywhere in the world, that it is virtually impossible to get enough data to establish a 'standard' valuation. It's much easier with a VW Golf or Toyota Camry, where hundreds of thousands of used cars are sold yearly.
In this case, it is good to just set a price (higher than you believe it will sell for), and then add the phrase 'or best offer' to the advertisement. As to where to sell it, I would advise you to advertise in Hemmings Motor News, which is the largest antique auto periodical in the world. And, you should advertise it in the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club's newsletter, The White Triangle News (I, or anyone else in the Club, can help you list this car at no cost to yourself). In addition, I am sure there are antique auto magazines in Germany, and possibly neighboring countries. I believe in Sweden there is a magazine called "Nostalgia" for example, a very good magazine devoted to old cars, with many advertisements in the back for such cars.
Good luck!0 -
