Hello,

I am a HET member with a '31 Hudson LWB touring sedan

that is need of a set of new pistons. Egge is not an acceptable

option so I am searching for members who may have shelf stock of '30-

'31 Hudson or Essex Challenger 2 7/8" +.030 oversize pistons so I can

reassmble my engine. Can anyone in this group help out? I appreciate

any leads. Have a great day!

    Have you checked with Dave Kostansek or Carl Weber? As you may know, they deal in parts for the older Hudsons.
  • Carl here: I'm sorry, but I don't ha any 1931 HUDSON pistons. I've never come across NEW pistons for that year. Y might try Vintage Auto Parts in Denver, Co or North West Auto Parts in Mich. as both places have many old car parts backt to this era. I also understand that they are reproducing them in New Zealand. You might also try Johns Pistons as they make them to order. Good Luck HUDSONLY CARL

    Del;

    Northwestern auto is in Grand Rapids Michigan, Carl is correct and may be a good lead. There phone # is 616-241-5611, or email is northwesternautosupply.com.

    You could also try Badger Pistons. Phone # is 866-534-7601, or 662-534-7601. no email. Hope this helps, keep us posted on what you find. Gene Birdsall
  • Thanks Carl, I have checked Vintage and I think I checked with Northwestern, but will try again as their inventory changes. Any idea as to who is reproducing them in New Zealand? Geoff hasn't mentioned that in any of his emails.

    Pistons from Caterpillar starter engines are same as 30 pistons
  • Thanks for the ideas! Ross looks like a good possibility, but a bit pricey at $105+ each. I will follow up on the Caterpillar tip that Bob mentioned also.
