Here is another cool picture. A 51 Pacemaker Sedan. Almost calendar quality. Source of photo is unknown but it appears to have been taken in the 70,s before colour became readily available. Only if we can still find them today.

  • Huddy, I can't really say what Australian stepdowns were like but here in the states the 51 Pacemaker still had grill bar struts. In later models they were discontinued but in 51 they were still on the car. Did this happen to all 51's down under?

Did Pacemaker use the same parking light frames as the other models - if so the ones on that car are '52 (51's were rectangular.)

But in either event '52 had chrome /\ bars - only the inner frame remained in '53.

  • You both are right, this car is indeed a 52 Pacemaker. Our 51 did have the trianglular bars in the grill. My brother had one be fore he sold it. Thanks for correcting me.

Alex, Domestic Pacemakers used the same parking lights as the Wasp. That style began in 51 and went through 53. It really was a good design, better than the long wheelbase 51 lights which always seem to corrode.
