is this a 1929 Hudson?

I did some research and I'm pretty sure this is a 1929 Hudson Model R Roadster but I'd like some confirmation. It's mainly the hood ornament that's throwing me off. Everything looks like a Hudson but the hood ornament. I'm asking on behalf of the photographer, all she tells me is that in full resolution the only identification is a small plaque that says "1929 Roadster"

  • Looks Like An Aururn To Me, Bill Albright
  • Auburn roadster.
  • I believe thats a Marquette. It was a junior model to the Buick, made by GM at the time.

Good to see the steering wheel is on the "correct" side (for New Zealand!) RHD. Send it over. LOL:D
  • Hi, You should check with Don Reich, of Groveland, Mass. He restored a 1929. He is(or was) one of the original members (along with Hal and Hildi Denman) of the HET Club. Steve
  • Marquette is probably correct. Here is a Marquette roadster:

Went to look at Auburns and the grille is quite a bit different!

It is DEFINITELY not a Hudson, of any model or age (thru the years I've probably had 8 to 10 '29s).

If you're able "close up" on the radiator badge & there's an "H" it is a Huppmobile. Could be a junior series Stude.?

Looks like a 1929 Buick. If you look closely at the emblem on the radiator it looks like a Buick logo

yes, a good option, could definitely be a junior series Buick

Definitely a Marquette, which is a small Buick, which is a strange thing for them to make, being a side-valve, as they always trumpeted the superiority of their valve-in-head motors.

    Geoff.
  • Could be a HENWAY?
  • The photographer was able to get confirmation from the museum - it is indeed a Marquette and not a Hudson
