54 man. hood release mechanism needed

I have a new cable and housing and handle already and want to convert so that the hood can only be released/opened from the inside of car.



For a 1954 Super Wasp (Hornet may not be the same; see example photo-taken at Hudson meet)



I need the following:



1. cable housing securing bracket and phillips screw



2. hood release housing with spring, 4 phillips screws, cable-locking mechanism

    Apparently the one I need is off of a Hornet.



    The distance between the center of the bolts, fender-to-fender direction is 4 inches+.



    In-line distance between bolts is 3 1/4 inches+.



    The 54's are overall smaller than 48-53's by ~ 1 inch both directions.



    So please look around in your parts bends and if you have an extra one for sale, pls send me a private message on this forum or telephone.

    I have a 54 Super Wasp front clip out in the woods. I'll measure it up and check the condition.and let you know.

    I may be wrong but I believe, from-the-factory, only the 54 Hornets had the type of release that Im looking for.



    Of course its possible that an original on a Super Wasp was replaced with one from a 54 Hornet and the one you have sitting in your vacant lot has the one I need.

    The Wasp had a shorter front clip, than the Hornet. Hornet cable might be longer.

    The 54 is different in that the safety latch, ( the hook ) is on the opposite side from the one on ebay. I may have one from a 54 hornet I parted out last year. I'll check tomorrow and let you know.
