Dodge Van Radiator?

I went to the radiator shop today to order a Dodge van radiator for my 51 Hornet, but I need a couple questions answered.....
year? I think 1976
model? my choices were B100, 200 & 300
A/C? I don't know
Core size? I gave them the Hudson core size, but that didn't help them.
They only had core sizes listed in their system, not overall size.
If anyone has actually purchased one for their car, let me know how well it cools and how easy it is to install(mods, adjustments, etc...)
Thanks

A little off you topic, but my stock '49 radiator cools my hemi just fine. I'd go with as close to stock dimensions that will fit.0

Here are a few ideas from prior posts:
HUDSON RADIATOR Replacement ideas:
1) 70's Dodge pickup with 360 engine. You need to trim the side mountings
with a die cutter. they work great, about 160 to 175 dollars,
2) 76 and up Dodge full size van V8 radiator is a direct fit in stepdowns.
If that is the case, a new core should be available for a rebuild.
3) Honda V6 SUV ALUMINUM radiator was a match. You can probably do a search and find the thread(s) to contact the authors for more info. I
hope this helps.
4) 1995 and up Honda Passport V6 Radiator is nearly identical to the stock
Stepdown Radiator except it has no mounting brackets. Swap your radiator
brackets over to it and you have an aluminum radiator at a low cost. I did it for my 50 Commodore 8. Have only driven it in town so far. Works fine. The hose outlet position and size are virtually the same!!! As are the core dimensions. Makes for a more available service situation.0 -
OMG,
I like number 3 and 4.
Good dose of info!0 -
I guess I will try the Honda option since there are a few different size Dodge radiators and nobody seems to know exactly which one is a fit in the Hudson. I will give an update next week after I get it.
Thanks

Pics of it installed if you can. Thanks0

Installation is a bit complicated for someone who doesn't know anything about radiator like me. So when I bought one, I asked for professional help.

I have my Honda/Isuzu radiator installed in the Hornet. I am not sure if the pics will post, but I will give it a try. I cut the side brackets off of the original radiator, and made pieces to attach it to the new radiator. It then bolted right into place.

Is it that much of a big deal to have a radiator shop install a new core and reuse the top and bottom tanks?0

You wouldn't think so, but the new cores must be made of gold based on the prices I was quoted (anywhere between $500-$900). This aluminum Honda radiator only cost me $70 plus another $3 for bracket parts. If this was more than an occasional driver I would probably fork over the cash. I still have a couple of old Hudson radiators that I can get fixed if I ever decide to do it right, but for now I'm fine with this.

Copper brings a fortune these days - ask anyone who has had a new house or an outside AC unit pilfered for its copper.0

OMG! Are you serious? I know the price of copper has shot up, but $500.00 to $900.00 is just insane. A few years back, another car club I belong to took a field trip to a local company that manufactures new radiators for Model T's. The owner stated that although they'd rather stick with manufacturing, he said they can do repairs and copy radiators. Maybe I should give them a call and see what, if anything, they can do for our Hudsons.0 -

That's true. I hope you haven't had personal experience with someone borrowing (copper) parts from your house. I know that many builders will go overboard on security these days, some going as far as to not install the CAC condenser until the house is turned over to the buyers. Heck, I've heard about thieves stealing aluminum guard rails from roadways and gutters from people's homes.0 -
a couple months ago the R.E.C sent out a notice to watch your farm places because people were cutting down the main power wires to houses and out buildings,a week later I read in the police reports that a theft had occured at the electric co. 2 big spools of new power line wire. the funny part is it is a block from the sherrifs station, that's bold!0

They quoted me $350, to re-core the radiator on the Jet. Is this a fair price?0
-
I just had my radiator redone to a four core to the tune of $620.000
-
One way to look at it is that even if a good radiator job cost $1,000.00, it is less work and expense than a new engine.0
