essex brake swap?

anyone ever swap out the brakes on an essex? looking fo options to go to a 5 or 6 lug bolt pattern to run steel wheels instead of the wood spokes. anyone do this? so far ive found a buy that had his spindles turned down and ran mopar drums and another guy that just swapped out his front axle for a desoto axle. im wondering if there is anything out there that used the same wheel bearings that can be a direct swap to the essex spindle. does this belong in the street rod forum?

    There is a gentleman in Woodstock , Ontario ,Canada, that had plates made up to mount spindles to original front end, believe it was a 29 Hudson maybe able to do to an Essex. If you would Like to contact him, I could get him name and phone number if you would like and you can ask him what he did
