Looks like a very nice Jet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, and with a 262 cu in engine (4.3L, V6 Chevy) in a Jet-how nice!

I'm installing a 262 from a demolition-derby-type (rolled) 1993 Chevy S10 Blazer in my '54 Super Wasp.

Engine and tranny have been rebuilt, and with the few changes I've made it should have ~ 260-275 hp. It has the Central Port Injection (CPI) fuel injection system (one injector and 6 poppets/valves & Multi Port Fuel injection L@@K), underdrive pulleys, Comp Cams cam, roller timing chain, and, of course the original computer plus an after-market chip. Engine is glossy black and all acccessories, including 4L60E tranny, are painted silver/clear-coated. It's starting to look very good. Will post a photo in the near future.

My research indicates one fellow hopped up a 4.3L Chevy V6 and it dyno'd @ 675 hp. My ultimate goal is to radically rebuild my 2nd motor ("262 thumper", i.e., bored and stroked to ~ 277 cu in or more), a '92 GMC Sonoma 4.3L engine, into an awesome drag race engine, primed up for installation into some Super Jet which I've failed to locate at the present. The Super Jet will be painted same colors as my Super Wasp and the Super Wasp will pull Jet on an AL trailer to meets (I meant drag meets)! Doesn't hurt to dream! A front-wheels-off-the-pavement Hudson-that's what I want; one running in the 11's or 12's (I'm getting too old for anything faster)! hehe

  • 2 hours and 49 minutes left; R U going to own this great car?

Wish the timing was right for me; this appears to be a solid car with lots of potential!!
  • Not at ten grand.
  • I think it was a miracle that it got bid up to $5355.
  • Mr Royer, what do you think the ebay car should appraise for? $ ________

Pls post us some photos of your Jet and your opinion of what yours should appraise for.

I'm in the market to purchase one so this would be good info for all of the readers.

    Thanks.

I paid around $4500 for my Super Jet in Sept 2005. I have less than $500 invested in parts since I've bought it and have put about 5000 miles on it. I think it's worth about the same amount of money as I paid for it.

The ebay car is probably worth the same. The body appears to be in worse shape than mine (note the hood/cowl damage and other minor details) but it does have modern mechanicals which is important to alot of collectors and hobbyists.

Good luck with the Jet hunt,

    Matt

I would like to inject my feelings on the value of the Hudson Jet series. The April 2007 issue of 'Cars & Parts' magazine published a price guide on all Hudson models (except pickups), 1946 thru 1957. In that article, they have posted the following values:

    Cond #3 Cond #2 Cond #1

    Jet series, model 1C, 1D Sedan 5900.00 8300.00 12800.00

    Sup Jet model 2C, 2D Clb Sed 6500.00 9150.00 14100.00

    Sup Jet model 2C, 2D Sedan 6050.00 8500.00 13100.00

I tend to beleive these values to be reasonable in todays inflationary times.

Of course, model 3D Jetliner series are slightly higher in value than the Super Jet list above.

I have also attached a picture of my '53 Super Jet Sedan that I have owned since Nov. 1966. It is not a "trailer queen" as I have driven it nearly 60,000 miles in that time. I do consider it amoung the nicer Jets around.
