Doc's meet 2007 show report...

So Doc's meet was great, weather held out, could not have asked for a better day. We made the drive in around 2 1/2 hours, not bad time. I was able to buy both sides of the front fender "Commodore 6" emblems for my 50. I handled them for 2 years at Frank's stand, and finally broke down and paid the price. I have a left one, but did not have a good right. At least now, I got a pair of NOS. I also picked up a real nice, but not perfect Antenna mast, which is good enough for my car, I also got the lower center bumper fill piece that goes between the guards on a 48-50 commodore, NOS, and unfortunately, I bought a pair of 50 Pacemaker upper grille v's both NOS, but not going to serve me any purpose. The lower V I also got was in fact, a Commodore/SUper, but I already got it.

Hudsondad did well enough, he got a few more parts for his 52 coupe, and we managed to but more heavy dirty parts, 2 hydro's which were price fair, and heavy. Did I mention they were heavy? well, save it for Doc's meet, you always got to buy parts by weight.... This was the first time we went to Doc's and did not buy a twin H set-up, there wasn't even a set-up there. Frank had a set of Oil bath twin H aircleaners, but I didn't really want to bother with anymore of them.

The parts picking was light, but represented well... The Boyles were there, Dave Kostensak, Dick Pridemore, Paul Schuster, Frank Dhulhy, and a few other vendors, I did not get to find out names of.

Many familiar faces wondering around, heck there was even a Stepdown convertible there, for sale!

Great meet, no rain was a real bonus!

Best!

I feel so bad for you, Rick...it must have been agony to attend a HET Club-sponsored meet. To be welcomed by folks who have dedicated decades to preserving parts, knowledge and cars and helping others even though you laugh at their efforts must have been especially painful. I'm truly sorry that you had to suffer at the hands of us poor, misguided Club Members. :(

Ah, come on Sam, Don't pick on the kid!! He's been looking forward to Doc's meet all Winter. He even got up at 0430 Sunday so we could get down there by 0830. He socialized for so long that he missed pictures of many of the cars that were there. He behaves better in person then he does on the forum!!!!!!!!!
  • Oh, hudsonkids alright! It's just a hormonal thing......you know....guy looks like a friggn' tree trunk! What do you guys eat back East there?!!! Just kiddin dude! I still love ya! Though I'm getting a bit jealous of the attention gettin' your way! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the members of the HET club, and a lot about it. I love the content of the White triangle news, for some reason that editor rubs me the wrong way.....

    Oh well, can't have everything.

Sam, check out the pictures, they are awesome!

I sure wold love to see them in print.

I guess you can only meet some people halfway.....

    Best!

That's my Uncle Bill - he lurks around this board from time to time. I'm Ruth and Dick's grandson.

Uncle Bill should have found a Hudson to buy while he was in Front Royal!:D

honestly, I cannot remember a single jet being there. That's kind of weird...

as far as total, I really can't give an accurate count.
  • Hey Royer, I saw one Jet pull into the grass lot while I was talking to PAULARGETYPE up on the hill. It was gone before I got down to see it. I didn't buy a Hudson at Doc's, though I did look at Bob's 48 convertible. Today I took a vacation day and went to look at a 54 Jet for sale. I'll send you a picture later. Uncle Bill

Email me the pics from Doc's meet - I'd love to see them. Did you get a count of how many cars were there on Sunday?

You'd look good driving a Jet!
