Rear-end interchange for a 1949 Hudson stepdown
Hello All:
I was wondering if anyone out there could confirm or deny that an early 70's Comet/Maverick or Grenada rear-end, housing and all, will interchange for my 49 Hudson Super Six.
Any information that could be provided would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure on that. A Ranger will fit; the Hudson rear is quite narrow in these cars. Based on the Granada rear tread being 57" I think it will be a few inches too wide. No matter what you use, the sping perches need to be altered.
You might read through the thread 'change rear end or install overdrive' as 53-54 rearends have ratios down to 3.08.0
