1952 Hornet
Except of front directional bezel's, pork chops and I want to use '53 Hornet hood bird instead of '52 Horent ornament which is bright, shinny rechromed and would consider trading or selling. All of other interior/exterior bright work/stainless steel & chrome completely finished.
Does anybody want to sell good condition '53 hood bird replatable ornament left/right directionals and pork chops respectable cores? If so please send me an email at kada9528@cox.net
Thank you
Ray

Is your car the one pictured in the link? If so, how long have you owned it?0

Bill Albright remans the porkchops. Save yourself some time and money, buy a pair from him. ready to install.
Ken Amman sells the front directional bezels (the thin sheet metal plated affairs that everyone needs that's doing a 52-3 hornet) reman, which are chromed and ready to install. It is easier to just bite the bullet and go this route as well.
As far as the 53 hood ornament, I would suggest Bill Albright as well....
If you're not a member, might I suggest looking into joining the HET club? hit up SamJ or someone will chime in, it will give you ready resources to find what you are looking for.
Bill cruises around the board here, Ken does not (or not that I am aware of)
As far as the 52 hood ornament, it works for wasp-commodore-hornet, only difference being the V is gold on the hornets. It is a one year only piece, and someone has got to be looking for one. They seem to go for around $250 nice new or rechromed, as long as the detail isn't wiped off or it has pock marks via a poor chrome job.
Oh, and if that is the 52 in the picture on the website, it has a 51 hornet hood ornament on it. The 52's wrap the front of the hood. 50-51 are the similar, 52's are their own design. Nice car though!0 -
I exchanged emails with Ken and his wife a few months back - they're looking to sell the parts business (I believe he's been advertising it in the WTN)
I hope someone takes him up and continues sourcing some of the parts he's been having made. If I had the cash I'd do it in a heartbeat to keep the quality parts available he's been selling.0 -
I wish I still owned it, I sold car I purchased from fine old southern gentlemn; Rudy Bennett and we called it "Black Beauty" a couple of years ago. The maroon/creme in link I foolishly sold about four years ago. Hopefully if I am successful building this '52 Hornet coupe it will be my last and one I'll keep...Although I did put a deposit on garage kept 51 4 door Commodore from third owner who purchased from gentleman from CA., it's still in the garage and third owner never got round to restoring the car.0

If I remember correctly, and if the car picured above is the same one, it had one heck of a fabulous engine rebuild. From what you've mentioned, I think it is the same car.0

Thank you, I've been a member in good standing in H.E.T for many, many years, I m aware and have purchased various good quality, quick delivery items from both Bill Albright & Ken Amman satisfactorily. Presently I am not ready for items in question (although I did purchase hood bird requiring plating today from another member) when the time comes and if I don't find replatable cores that I can have plated in the shop I have an interest in inexpensely; obviously when the time comes I'll have and will bite the bullet!!! RE: hood birds, presently I have two however am not satisfied with quality, so I purchased another today or I may sent mine to Helena, Montana to a company named Decrorative Industrial Plating who specializing in pot metal repair and plating. As for the hood ornaments or anything else on this fine old part of American history, I always felt and still do it's a matter of personal taste of what one's/owner preference is. Both of my past owned Hudson Hornet's in the web-site are 1953 model's one with the proper hood ornament and the other with '51 ornament and I enjoyed them both the same. Just for anyone's information I have beautiful newly tripble plated chrome '51 hood ornament and if they are being sold for $250.- I'd like to offer mine. I also have a good condition 308 aluminum head that I can sell "as is" or professionally polished and rebuilt water pump for sale or trade.
Best Regards,

Yes your right, I purchased car over the telephone from grand old southern gentlemn who I am proud to say has been a good friend since my acquisition from Rudy Bennett. I immediately trnsferred good faith deposit and with in two dys I flew to El Paso Texas, lead came from another friend Ken Gates and only was on Dave Sallon's web-site one day. Upon my arrival I kicked the tires, maybe only one and after meeting trustworthy Rudy and looking under the hood of immaculately appointed roaring engine with only 5,000 virgin miles I immediately paid Rudy before he changed his mind (seller's remorse) and we drove "Black Beauty" at plus 70 mph over 15 hours to Las Vegas and my faced was hurting from smiling all the way home.
As we all experience at one time or another in our life's; buyer's remorse, well in the case of "Black Beauty" I experienced seller's remorse from the one I foolishly get away.

Thanks, Ray,
It's hard to forget a car like that, especially with the level of work that had been done to it. Compare your selling that car to the old saying, "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." At least you had it and enjoyed it. If your goal is to be back in the driver's seat of a Hudson again, I'm sure you'll find a way to make it happen. Just don't take too long, I'm anxious to see your next ride.
