Actually, I know of two youngsters under the age of 7, whose first name is "Hudson"! They are both grandparents of members of our local Hudson club chapter. So, you are in good (young!) company.

    (Granchildren! Sorry 'bout that!)

Welcome to the forum, a little boy at church is named "Hudson"

and John Mellencamp named his son "Hud".

Its interesting to see how many last names "Hudson" are in the Club roster.

  • G'day all

We have a Jim L Hudson as member in our club, owns a 51 Pacemaker.

There is a hardware store group in Australia named Hudson Hardware, their advertising slogan goes like this, HUDSON WITH AN "H"

Our annual Australia Day static display in held in the heart of Sydney. We have our spot in front of the Hudson House, about half a mile walk from the Opera House. This spot is allocated for us only and has been for the past 6 or 7 years now. Some of you American Hudsonites may recall during the International Hudson Rally held back in early 2004.

    regards

Martyn Hudson in U.K. owns three Hudsons.
  • Anybody remember Bruce Willis' movie "Hudson Hawk"? One of the worst movies of all time. Hudson was a spy of some sort. The movie was so bad I've never even seen it on cable or sattelite!

Back in '50 my grandparents bought a 1949 Hudson, of which I'm now the proud owner. My grandmother's maiden name was Hudson. My cousins middle name is Hudson, and my '49 was given to me (after being preserved in his garage for 30 years) by my uncle (first name) Hudson!

My neighbour down the road has a large Bloodhound canine named Hudson. We stopped at his garage sale and the owner shouted out his name to prevent him from placing his huge paws on our '58 Olds we were driving.

  • Well I have been watching all the threads tring to get an Idea about what I should do to my coupe. I have a few different ideas, 1st is make it into a Gasser, 2nd rat rod it, 3rd street rod it like some of the other stuff running around here or bag it with 20's but leave the body almost stock. What do you guys think? any input is appreciated.....

If you have to choose between making a "Rat Rod" out of it and taking it out to a field, covering it in gasoline, and burning it to the ground, I would choose the latter. :(

    Go, Sam, go!
  • Sam. How right you are.
  • Well I can tell with those responses that a rat rod it is......
  • Sorry about that, I didn't mean to get you all worried. I sometimes type to fast an I guess the (n't) didn't come threw. So it was supposed to say that it isn't a rat rod. I am thinking more of the Gasser look. I have a big block olds 425 with a 4 gear a straight front axle an some other little things but I am still thinking of something that is drivable so street rod? HEELLLPPPPPPP!!!!!
  • A street rod would look nice I'd say. But the gasser idea is different. The Hudson seems wider than most gassers of that era that I've seen, but then most I've seen are Anglias or Willys. Maybe quite cool at that. Maybe try jacking it up in front, set some skinny tires against the drums and see how it looks. I've never had a gasser, so if you want to drive it lots, I couldn't say how streetable it would be.
