Much agreed! My son (who is 4 y.o.) is only allowed limited TV and its usually educational DVD's we purchased. No violent movies or shows, no video games, no guns, etc. He reads one book with either my wife or I each night before bed. I talk about easy science things such as planets, stars, clouds, etc. I don't intend to isolate my son, but I refuse to let him grow up to be as stupid as today's culture seems to wants us to be. And he's not going to learn that "might makes right", we promote violence too much in this country.

And of course we both look at each new WTN and Hot Rod mag that comes! He knows his cars!

  • "How 'bout them Bears huh? Should have a good season this year." Back to the Hudson. I drive by this car all the time. When I saw a for sale sign on it I pulled over to take a closer look. This was about a year ago. He was asking $10,000. Now he's selling it for $16,000. I'm kicking myself for not buying it at $10,000! Man these Hudsons are appreciating fast!

Rambo---ANOTHER Disney-Hudson link!! First, Pixar/Disney and "Doc Hudson", now Disney albums-Hudson!! Whooda thunk it? I'm going to start digging thru our old albums--I think you're onto something here!!
  • Last time I was over at Dan's new place, we played the Bambi album, danced around the garage, and drank cherry Kool Aid.....

    good times.

    seriously though....

that rusty hudson is overpriced, period. can't argue that one. It is a shame, because overpricing a project like that just keeps it out of the hands of anyone that might do the car justice. Now it will sit and rust more, and at some point, it will be unsaveable, just becuase the seller was holding out for an unrealistic price.

A different car with the same issues.

That Jet Convertible is looking like a better deal all the time...

I bet when you try to load it on a trailer, it will look like that Jet Convertible!

The album is actually older than I am!

Just like our beloved Hudson's they don't make them like this anymore - And who among you didn't cry when Bambi lost his mom? :D

You know, I used to have a copy of the Bambi book my father had as a child, it was printed in the late 30's or early 40's if I remember correctly. The pages were yellowed, but I remember reading it as a boy. I also remember the song albums like the Grasshopper and the Ant, etc. Boy, that's a long time ago!

We bought the DVD for my son a couple years ago, and though he didn't understand the part where his mother is killed, he cried when Bambi slipped and fell on the ice!

    Wow ~ 5k ~

The must be some really good smoke or drugs making it around the country right now - cause the "Doc Hudson" effect has made people crazy insane.

Imagine buying a car for 16k that needs a complete restoration and then finding out how hard it is to find parts for a Hudson. Hudsonkid is right that these kinds of prices for "lawn ornaments" will mean they sit even longer untill nothing left but the bones.

The ONLY reason a rusty relic should command that kind of money is if it is a factory rare model, or has some kind of pedigree from early racing and that would need to be documented.

At this rate my custom 49 should be worth 100k
  • Best part of that ad is the line about charging you a storage fee if you don't come and pick it up. The car has sat for 50 years in that field but when you buy it he is gonna need that spot pretty quick he wants to drag another car in there to rust LOL....I love these ads its pure comedy...

Now let's not get hasty.... let's put the blame where it belongs. It's the Anti-Christ... Barrett Jackson!

Remember when the term "BJ" meant something good? Now I just get that dirty, I'm going straight to hell feeling when I utter those words. I've known of people taking one dose of that show to start thinking that the p.o.s. at the bottom of the hill that they have been using for target practice for 20 years is now their retirement plan.

    Terry :D

They must have gotten into the 'shroom spores when they opened this car up - that would explain a lot :D

I think I would be leery of someone that puts in the description that, "It was no racer as it had only the flat 6 in it.

I noticed that too. What an idiot. Can't even research correctly and someone would buy a car from him?

Shame my car is up for some repairs or I'd run over there and take a peek..

 Looks like the Hudson coupe that I bought in west Seattle about forty years ago for thirty five bucks. I drove it for about a year and sold it for a hundred bucks to a young college guy who used it for awhile then parked it. I since moved to San Jose and lost track of the car. Could this be the same one? the one I had did have a blanket on the seat, but no WTN. I see dreamers on e bay quite often, their car does not sell and they still do not get the message even when the poor (victim) car heads for the crusher.

OK Folks.. I took a ride over to the Dealership that had this car up for sale and it was gone.. I asked him what happened and he told me that they Actually Sold it for GET THIS $5000... hahahahahhaahaha

Guess the Old saying...s Sucker born every day still applies!!!
  • That Hudson would cost almost as much money to keep maintained as the blonde with the Buick. And as those of you who are married to one will agree, that's a pretty tragic Hudson.

My 29 Sedan is for sale for $39,900. I will take a bottom dollar of $37,500 from club members or HET enthusiasts.

You know, something just occured to me, this car makes a great comp, as I am sure those of you familiar with real estate will agree. "What do you mean, thirty thousand dollars for my Pacemaker is too much? Look at this rustbucket on eBay!"
