Looking for Essex wire wheels.

I am bidding on a wheel on ebay, but I should have 5 for a full set. Does anyone have a 27/28 essex with wire wheels out there ? If I find enough wheels I will still need the hubs to mount them on the car. Any pic's of the hubs will make it easier to find or make them.

The wheel on ebay is actually a 29E wheel and may not work on a 27 unless hubs are fabricated. I have now been informed that the correct wheels may be the knock-off style, but the same size & #of spokes. Is there someone over seas that might have some input on this matter ? ie Australia or N.Z.??

Some photos of the only wire wheel '27 Essex that I know of in New Zealand. I understand that this care is no longer in NZ. PM me if you want higher res photos.0 -
ESSEX28-1, Nice Boattail ! I have one like it thats why I'm looking for wire wheels. These wheels are definitly KNOCK-OFF type wheels. I am going to put an ad in the WTN to see if I can get any results.0

I think someone tried to PM me with some info on these wheels but my pop-up blocker would not let me open it. Here is my e-mail address, remember to remove the HET.

Try sending me an email to HETDavid@websters.co.nz (drop the HET) but the auction is nearly over!!0 -
I tried to reply to your direct email with photos of 2 more '27 Essex Boattails, that of Tom Brintnall - 1927 Essex Boattail & the other to Jim DiGiorgio - 1927 Essex Boattail that I took at Carl Webers June 04 meet, & to give you details of an auction that may be interesting. It may be too late by the time you see this but... bloody spam filters that work when you don't want them to!!
"I was trying to tell you about an auction on TradeMe ( the New Zealand equivalent of eBay) where someone is selling 5 wire wheels, 4 knock on hubs & a frame & a diff for a 1920's Delarge (from France). The wheels are the correct size (20"). Here is what I sent on the PM on June 18 when the bid was NZ$200.00. The bid is now up to NZ550.00 & closing in 8 hours:
The link below is to the New Zealand equivalent of eBay.

There are 5 wheels & hubs etc from a Delarge D8 for sale which look as if they may be able to be fitted to the Essex. Remember that NZ$200 is approx US$150 & that freight to the USA may be a killer. If I can be of further help, my direct email is:HETDavid@websters.co.nz0 -
Hey David, you never know what you find down under, all sorts of parts for all sorts of cars and all rare just like the people LOL0

G'day Tom, If you like you can send me a private message and I will advertise in the Hudson Hub Classifieds... Wanted 27 Essex wire wheels etc. I do know of a 28 Essex Sedan in need of restoration that has a complete set of wires and hubs etc, I think around $1,500 for this car and it not all that bad either, but presumably the wheels won't fit a 27 Essex.
I wheel need Email details, Phone No. etc. Advertising is for free.

PS. Anyone can contact me Outside of Australia through here the forum if you need help in locating parts downunder.0
