I think they are. I got one from your dad Perry for my second tail light on my 29 Hudson and now have it installed and working but still messing getting the turn signals working. Good luck, Ron0 -
Yes, I am told by the people on this site that they are, if you have any leads on one please let me know
thanks Peter0 -
Call Carl Weber, he probably has one. Or email him HEThudson654@aol.com

These have become rather hard to find, and not cheap when you find one on eBay. It is a Brown Bi-Lite made by John Brown Lamp Company. New lenses are available from vintageandclassicreproductions.com. The 1929 is a brass housing that is prone to cracking where the rim/bezel clamps to the light; the 1928 is a steel housing that doesn't have that problem, but if you find one it's likely to be rather rusty and you'll pay the chromer to fix it. A tip - 1929 Studebaker used the same light.0

A 1929 Studebaker tail light is on ebay right now and does not look like the 1929 Hudson/Essex light. Maybe the base is the same as Hudson and the lens is not ? Good luck, Ron0 -
Thanks for the info , will keep looking may get lucky Peter0

Hi there.
There is a NOS Essex tail light on www.classicaccessories.org. It is a 20s but not sure if it is what you want0 -
The NOS Tail light on www.classicaccessories.org is a drum type for an earlier Essex than the '28/29 one wanted.0

Hi Peter, the 1 on ebay, without the stop on it, I have a frame like this, but dont have the lense

DOH! I have had Studebakers on the brain lately. PUBLISHING CORRECTION: The '29 taillight was used on Hudson and NASH, not Hudson and Stude.0
