Our 54 convertible was in local parade with 40,000 spectators, then featured on Pittsburgh Channel 4 News coverage of the parade, the second largest 4th of July parade in PA.0

Well, no pics, just a routine grocery run and picked up some pallets with the 47 Pickup. Parade isn't 'till Sat here. Might run the 52 Hornet again. Made an ice cream run with it Mon pm with 2 grandgirls and their 2 friends in the back seat.0

Walt's Garage Hudson was in his garage getting ready for our cross country trip. San Francisco to Goshen, CT. Leaving 4:30am Thursday morning, July 5th. 6 days, 3,300 miles and will be seen by a lot of people. It takes at least an hour to leave a rest stop. Anybody want to join me? Must travel at least 500 plus miles a day. This is our yearly trip and make the stop on the way home at the National. See you all in Auburn.0

My Jet Liner was in Savannah, TN. the 3rd. to meet the great race teams as they came in to town for lunch stop. 69 nice cars and trucks but only 2 Hudsons. Both 1916s. Oldest car a 1910 Selden. The biggest was a V12 Cummins in a Peter Built chassis (peter built grill shell anyway) Three big carbs on each bank.0

My Super Jet was in it's first parade in Pekin, IN, home of the oldest continous 4th of July celebration in the United States. About 40 cars, I was the only Hudson.

Mine was at home on the 4th, but this Saturday, going to the Northwest Chapter HET meeting, at Kenny and Jane Hall's place at Toledo, WA. They have a red '54 convertible that is to die for- it was on the cover of WTN after last year's nationals. Plus, I guess they have acquired another '54 vert as well, and have several other Hudsons. Lunch at 1, garage tour, etc. Last time we had a meeting in this area, 8 Hudsons came out, with the great weather we're having, there will be more this time, I'm sure. Email me for directions if interested.0

I took the Super Jet out running errands yesterday. It was 118 in the shade here in the desert southwest!0

Thursday paper came out and we have more coverage. Ad read: 07-04-07-Canonsburg Parade-Hot Shots-diamond-- Classic and antique cars from members of the Covered Bridge Region AACA were a hit as they drove the parade route along the parade route Wednesday during Canonsburg's annual Fourth of July Parade. This 1954 Hudson sported large flag-like pin wheels.0
-
Running around all over the place and parked on a nearby hill to watch the downtown fireworks show. Also drove across town to a barbecue and parked next to buddy's Aston Volante. Going to the AACA gathering at the local Krispy Kreme Saturday and then doing a wedding that evening.0

Same place its been for 1 1/2 years! On Blocks! Ugh! But had a great time anyway. Except the walking in the small local parade nearby........only in the hundred and teens! (insanity). Had a great bbq at a friends house and swimming in their pool (mines waiting for refinishing).0

Both my Hudson drivers sat idle yesterday but last weekend took the 51 Hornet Coupe to a large show in Orange County and ACTUALLY saw another Hornet Coupe... a 52. It was owned by a fellow HET member. He was as shocked as I was to see another Hudson. Nice guy, 78 years old. We actually walked around and checked out the show together.0 -
MUST OF BEEN ONE OF MY CUSTOMERS, BY THE NAME OF bruce burmiester, by the way how is my old 51 coupe holding up, Neills????0

My 49 Brougham was at a local cruise nite on Tuesday. On Wednesday the 4th, my son Matthew took the car for a ride to impress his new girlfriend Jessica. They drove around a bit and stopped by Bill Chapmans house. Jessica really enjoyed meeting Bill and hearing stories about knowing Matthew since he was a baby. He is 30 now.
They got back home just before it started to rain. I always told my kids when they were little that the Hudson would melt if I drove it in the rain.
The first thing Matt said to me was "See dad I got the car home before it would melt in the rain".
I told my wife that I always get a little"verklept". when I watch my sons driving one of my Hudsons. They grew up in them and now they both are old enough to drive them, and someday they will own them. They will be the fourth generation of Hudson owners in my family.0 -
The body and most of the parts were in my shop here in Kingston Springs. The front fenders were sitting outside under a cover. The frame was in Dover, TN needing to be picked up from some front end work.0
-
Mine was inside the shop with the other vehicles I have. Stayed home. Didn't feel like doing anything. Having a 4th of July fall midweek just plain sucks.
The word "furklemp" is actually "verklept".0 -

Bill,
You are starting to scare me... yes it was Bruce. The 51 drives wonderfully. I'll probably get it repainted in a couple years after my 7X engined 52 Coupe is done.0 -
We drove the 54 Hornet along with 2 Ford Model A's and a 1919 Buick in our group. It was a local small town parade with about 100 units. We had a ball.....0

Great shot...thanx...:cool:0 -
I was stripping the inside out, including all of the glass (new windshield and all new side glass on order).
Today to begin stripping all the wiring, computer, gas tank, fuel lines, etc from the 93 S10 Blazer.
In a few days, my 54 Wasp, the front cap & 308 eng/tranny will be removed.
Then the rebuild will begin with installing a 262 cu in (4.3L Chevy V6) & 4L60E tranny, 4-wheel disc brakes, PS, etc.
This ought to be interesting. Hopefully by October it will be road-worthy again.0 -
Just got our 49 back home yesterday. 2,845 mi. in the last two weeks. Florida
to Ohio and back with lots of side trips. Gave it a good workout in the Smoky
mtns. and part of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Twin-H 308 and OD trans with
a 4.56 axle worked flawlessly. Other than fuel two qts.of oil was all it took. We
had a blast and the Hudson seemed to put a smile on a lot of faces.0 -
Washed the 37 hudson I just picked up from Bill and my 46 truck. Parked both in front of the house and got lots of looks. Then rolled the 53 Hornet out of the garage, started it for the first time since I tore it apart after a bad knock. (yes, it was the dampner, all that work on the bottom end....). Darn thing ran great so I did a little breakin time. With luck and some time tomorrow it will be moving on it's own for the first time in 30 years. All in all a good Hudson day.
