Hudson hand tools

I often run across at flea markets and automotive swap meets hand tools with the Ford (Motor Co.) script embossed on them. These Ford tools are usually open and closed end wrenches. I even recently ran across a wrench with the Overland script embossed on it. Did Hudson at any time, particulary in its early days, issue any hand tools similar to Ford, Overland and perhaps other manufacturers?

    The hand tools for my 1929 are not stamped Hudson. However they are stamped with thier tool name. ie: tappet adjusting wrench, eccentric adjusting wrench.

    I got a fountain pen that is marked Hudson on the pocket clip. I have seen maybe three in my years of collecting, as with the car, they are of superior quality, over built. (bakelite with metal lined barrel, heavy double rivet clip, etc....)

    I have two mechanical pencils with Hornets floating in the barrels, both different dealer items, but the same manufacturer. :cool:

    I Have A Terraplane Tool Kit And A Screw Driver It Is About 8" Long And Has A Sales Name On The Handle That Is Also Steel It Is From Fairmont Garageland Caster Pa. It Says Home Of Hudson And Locomobile Truck On The Other Side Of The Handle

    Not tool related but I have a matchbook cover touting the 1941 Hudson with the Henley-Kimball company advertized on it around here somewhere.



    And of course there were dealer post cards all over the place.

    Of course in the 1920's and maybe earlier, cars were equipped with a special wrench that fit the triangular or hexagonal shape of the Hudson or Essex screw-on hubcaps. I'm not sure this had "Hudson" stamped into it, but it would have been a Hudson-only item.

    I had one of those special wrenches I picked up somewhere for a number of years. Couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was for - until one day I was at Carl Webers meet (the wrench was in my car) and while I was looking at Brintnall's 24 Touring and somebody's Essex, the light bulb went on!!! "So THAT'S what that wrench is for!!!!"

    It didn't have Hudson, Essex or Hudson-Essex on it.

    Haven't seen any Hudson stamped tools but have seen padlocks on Ebay. this This Pierce Arrow wrench came to me in a box of junk...

    I have 2 sockets that have spring steel bands around them and small ball bearings under the spring.Made by SK during WWll. The bearing grip the flats on flywheel plugs when changing clutch fluid. I was told they were made to keep sailors from dropping the the plugs into the bilges. They are not stamped Hudson anywhere though.

    Well, I guess other than a few specialized tools for certain repair work and some "tongue in cheek" responses ( I have a Hudson vanity mirror that I suppose could be considered a tool to show off my beautiful face!), Hudson did not issue a set of hand tools much like Ford, Overland and perhaps a few other car makers from the past. Anyway, thanks for those who responded and in particular, those who included a photo showing a Hudson Motor Car Co. related tool.
