On Saturday, there was a reunion of sorts of one of the last passengers of the famous crew from " On the Road" by Jack Kerouac. Al Hinkle, who now is in his mid 80's , was the center of a reunion / celebration / in Lowell Mass.

In the book, Kerouac and crew , take several road trips back in forth across the Country in the late 40's and Early 50's. The most Famous of the trips was taken in a 1949 Super 8 Sedan. The crew shares they're experiences and love of being on the road and traveling in the 1949 Hudson. Kerouac makes several refrences to the 49 in the book . Speaking of praise for the low slung car of the future.

Early in the Morning, There was a photo shoot with Dan McNichol, Tom Brintnall , Joe Hoermann and Al Hinkle. The Purpose of the Morning, was to reunite Al Hinkle with Those Famous Hudson Auto's. Tom Brintnall with his 50 commodore 8 sedan, Joe Hoermann with his 49 commodore sedan and Dan McNicholl / Pear With Goldie a 50 pacemaker. The Main Photo shoot was of Al in the 49 since that was the car they took on the trip.

After the filming, it was off to the Old Cotton Mill, in Lowell center , for a visit to the Jack Kerouac wing of the Museum. This was then followed by a slide show presented by Dan . Upon completion of the slide show, there was a fastenating talk given by Al , reliving the actual trip. This was amazing.

So special thanks to Tom Brintnall( 50Cm8) ,for coordination with the Jack Kerouac Gang , Dan McNichol and Pear( 50 Pacemaker) for lecture /slideshow and Joe Hoermann 49 Cm8.

Happy Hudsoning.

Thanks for the foe toes, guys. I saw the scroll and exhibit here in Santa Fe recently, and it is well worth a visit.

Dan McNicholl's car was on the cover of the May/June issue of the WTN. The final installment of his cross-country adventure story appears in the July/August issue, which is in the mail now.

Samj, I think that Dan mentioned that he was going to the nationals ... I think that would be a terriffic opportunity for people to get to hear his story first hand.... The slide show presentation that he gave at the Lowell / Keroauc Cotton Mill Musuem was outstanding.... It gives alot of perspective about the pregnancy and birth of our Nations Highway 's.......
