Pictures of a 39 Hudson from model 92
Hey, I got this picture of the 39 Hudson here from one of our forum members, model 92, a.k.a. Paul Dunningham, who wished to have it posted up. I kinda like 39's the more I see, the front end is unique, for sure....
Hopefully, He will chime in and add to the story. Seems like the workings of a good story, so enjoy!
Best!

First of all, a thankyou to 'HUDSONKID' for posting the picture. I have had this car the longest out of my collection of American tin. I bought it in '71 [my first car] , got my driver's licence in it and drove it to high school.
I have had a fondness for Hudson's since age four when Dad bought the first family car, a '39 Hudson Pacemaker [series 91]. I have owned mainly Ford's since then, but have always kept the '39 and stayed a member of the New Zealand HET Club [since '71]. I moved to Australia for several years and the Hudson became immobile, waiting back home in the shed as they tend to do.
Last weekend was the first time I've driven her again since 1980 after finally getting around to working on her after being distracted by Edsels, Galaxies, Fairlanes and Customlines etc for the past 27 years.
I've been through the brakes, unstuck valves[phew] , replaced head gasket[from Bill Albright], radiator, shocks, sway bar links, rear axle grease seals and the front grill section which had been damaged for years. I also have a better left front fender for it which I will put on soon. The front bumper is from my late Father's Hudson as the original was bent [yes, I'm afraid to say, Dad's old Hudson became the parts car years ago]. The gearbox, clutch and trunklid are also from his car. I will get a new exhaust system on her this week.
I have found this forum to be a fantastic source of information and support and I thank you all. Keep it up. Paul Dunningham.0
