Hornet won't fire
Here is my problem: I have spark, have gas in carburator but the car will not fire. I pulled the plugs and they do not smell like they are getting any gas. What am I missing?? I have poured gas down the throat of carb. and still nothing happens!!! Is this a timing problem or is there a valve issue here??
Thanks for the help...

Was the car running recently?
Have you done a compression check?
When you say 'gas in the carburetor', do you mean that it's spraying down the manifold when you pump the pedal?
Are you sure the timing is set correctly (you may get a spark, but is it occurring at the right time)?0 -
Sounds like a vacuum leak to me - perhaps a bad inlet gasket? Hold your hand over the carb intake, with throttle wide open, and crank the motor. If you feel it sucking hard, then you are okay, and need to check the ignition system thoroughly.
