When was the last year of the cork style clutch disk? Can you still get them or rebuild them? Or do you get them converted to a newer style? What type of fluid does it take? Remember a new guy here. Go easy on me......

Jim

PS. Car is a 35 Terraplane.

The cork clutches were used up to 1954 (the last Detroit Hudson). You can get replacement Hudsonite from the club store and other sources,, or use A.T.F. it is not practicable to convert to a dry clutch economically, although it has been done. When maintained properly the wet clutch is superior in operation. They can be rebuilt, but it depends on he condition of the disc whether it is practicable or not.

I was wondering about them as I have access to having mine rebuilt with a different material and use ATF fluid. If it works I might be in the position to have more redone and sell them. But if someone else has already done it then it wouldn't be of much valve.
