Fixin the Hash
Well, it's funny how fixin a little vacuum leak will make a twin H run better. It seems a 6 cylinder likes it better when all 6 cylinders are getting fuel. Now that both carbs are feeding things have smoothed out a bunch and I think I can get the idle where it needs to be. The transmission quit working again, must be some stuck valves. I think I'll drain the trans and flush it out, see if I can't get things working again.
I sure wish someone had an answer to my hood spring question though. There were so few answers there that I thought I was on a Ford forum. One spring seems to be kicking the hinge out and the other doesn't, though they both have the same action. Any ideas on what could be going on. Once I get it running right and the trans is working again I'll drive down to Bill Albrights and let Bill take a look at it, he'll probably take one look and give me the answer.

For your hood spring problem, I recommend that you contact Paul Schuster, the HET Club Technical Advisor for 1955-57 Hudsons, because most of us do not even know what 1955 hood mechanism even looks like.

Right now he is probably at the Nationals.0 -
I haven't heard back from Paul in my last few e-mails, I thought maybe something had come up in his life, maybe he's been preparing for the Nationals. I know the real Hudsons were set up differently but since I own a Hash I have to hope someone here can answer me until Paul gets back to me.

You are absolutely right , Rick. During the nationals every year, the posting rate here goes down dramatically. If it had not been for having to have a surgical procedure in June I would be there in Audurn and NOT posting here. Oh well, At least I still have Pigeon Forge in October....

hARRY, COME ON BY, HAVE A FEW GOOD HINGE ASSYS, bill albright has to be early morning0

Bill; I was talking with Edgar about it last time I was down there.He asked all the right questions about what I had done so far but we couldn't determine what the problem was. As I watch the hinges work I think one isn't working like the other. I just not sure which one isn't working correctly. I'll see you soon and make sure I come early.

Rick; I make a pretty good hash, you might want to stop by some day, now I'm trying to fix my Hash so I can start driving it. I'm not sure Paul was getting my e-mail after the first couple of times we e-mailed each other. I'll try him again after the National.

Charlie Nau who does the column The Alternative Hudson in the WTN might have some ideas.0

ok ok i'm back yes i was getting things ready for the national ( i sold some parts ) the hood hinges are trouble if some one closed the back edege of the hood on a screwdriver it can just flex the hinge and most times theyare just junk after that i would get another hinge it's the easyest way i have had some over the years but not right now if bill a can't fix you up i would contact Eric Kirk in Winchester Va. he has a few cars up in the woods that are great parts cars and he should have just what you need and at a fair price sorry on the delay in my answer

Paul;
no problem, I thought maybe you weren't getting my e-mails any longer. One of the hinges has been welded so I'm guessing it's junk, the other seems to work correctly but I'm not sure.I'm sure Bill has what I need. My day has gone bad today, I found out about noon my truck had been stolen and involved in a number of hit and run accidents, my employees had actually seen the thieves but couldn't reach me, the cops finally caught the thieves this afternoon but they have wrecked havoc over two counties, both juveniles so they won't go down to hard but my truck is totaled, what a way to end a weekend. Thanks for replying, did you ever get any of my e-mails?
