1956 Hudson Hornet Hollywood V-8
To anyone who can help!
I have just bought a 1956 Hudson Hornet Hollywood V-8. It is a Y code car, think it still has the original motor, not certain, has just less than 50000 on the odometer, last owner had for over 30 years. What I would like to know is, how to check if this is, the correct motor for this car. Where the codes are at on the motor block and what the correct stamping letters and or numbers would be? Thank you for your help!

Not sure about 56 but later AMC cars had an aluminum tag riveted, I think, to the generator bracket, that would be on the AMC 250 V-8 engine it also had 2 large thumbnuts holding the rocker arm covers on and was in the Hornet Special cars. The Hornet V-8 was a Packard engine and was very large. Rocker arm covers held on with small bolts/screws around the edge of the covers. Both engines were used in 56 only.0
